mistake imo.  The ufc heavyweight class is thin.  You need these guys, like gonzaga, cro cop, etc to put on undercard fights.  UFC has no business releasing anyone in the heavyweight class right now. (unless, you're a kimbo slice)

I have to agree here.  Gonzaga is a solid fighter.  Not sure what they were thinking.

Gabe's real sin is forgetting to shoot takedowns and not throwing more than one punch at a time.  Guy has a bunch of skills that he doesn't even use anymore.  Chances are if he would have taken Carwin down after he rocked him in that fight things could be a lot different in the UFC HW division right now.

This surprises me about some fighters, it's like they purposely try to not use their strong points in a fight. Even in the Schuab fight, he threw a few kicks, landed some good ones, then didn't throw them anymore.

I think a lot of these guys buy the bullshit that Dana sells about going for the knockout to be exciting and forget that you are fighting to win and not to lose.  Look at what being in all those slugfests got Keith Jardine.

With the acquisition of the WEC and its roster into the UFC's there are going to be a lot of cuts like this one.

Guys that they should keep, but just cant now because of fiscal reasons.

In reality they should keep Gonzaga because their HW class is so thin and he's not terrible, but now they cant.
