240 you've gone from devils advocate to annoying douchebag who makes things up-- If MSNBC is reporting 10's of thousands, the place is hardly "packed". http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39925382/ns/politics-more_politics/
Good god, I watched about 20 minutes of that.....it was AWFUL....and that was the segment with Colbert and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.....wow....I like Jon's show, but nobody in the crowd seemed to care and weren't making any noise.....just dead fish.
That part wasn't the best. Jon's speech at the end came off as rather preachy. However, the message was valid. Don't look to the messenger, ...just focus on the message.
I "got it" to a point during the segment I saw....he would have been better off having the principal from South Park on and just say "All Muslims are not bad, mmmm-kay....." It was just so canned and hacky looking/feeling. Surprised as Jon is usually very funny.
Stewart is usually a funny guy but this is not his element so no surprise if he flopped on the humor. I haven't seen pics or anything or heard any numbers but I'd imagine it drew a substantial number of people simply based on celebrity factors...which IMO goes to show how out of touch so many Americans are with reality.
Don't look to the messenger, ...just focus on the message.
keep that in mind the next time you want to murder someone.
I saw a overhead comparison to Becks. Beck definately had a LOT more people, but I will give Stewart credit - he got a lot of people out. BTW - not too many blacks in thw audience.
True. But don't tell that to Blacken or the deluded lefties at Huffington Post, currently engaged in (I believe it referred to as a) circle-jerk session, under the bogus claim that Stewart's rally "destroyed" Beck's rally. And, all of this is under the woeful wishful thinking that this is somehow going to rally the Dem vote (especially the youth) to keep the Dems from getting their heads cracked tomorrow.
