Is Caffeine The Next to Go?
« on: October 30, 2010, 11:07:35 AM »
With idiots like this taking 70x the recommended dosage of caffeine is it going to open the door for it to be regulated or made illegal like ephedra?

But do you think they might try to pass laws restricting caffeine pills? or make it where you have to grab one of those stupid plastic cards and take it up to the pharmacist to get it?

They already did in some country, likely to happen, Coffee lobbyist would love to keep people loyal. For years in canada, you could only get caffiene from natural sources like coffee or coca.

Assholes will always ruin things for everyone else, on that note I don't think they'll put any kind of a ban on caffeine.  I'm sure Coke and Pepsi own enough congressmen to make sure that never happens.

Do those (still) include caffeine, cause I don't notice anything.

It`s natural in coke and pepsi, same with coffee, they`d love to see artificial shit get banned means more for them.

However if ever there was a drug that gets accepted it`s caffiene, we as a cultural are addicted to it. It is my strong belief, poor people would be alot less stupid, if they simply had more caffiene in them.

How are they going to ban caffeine? It is in everything and then some(coffee, tea, guarana, chocolate, etc). Also, there will be serious social unrest if they try to ban caffeine. For lots of people, their coffee in the morning is the one thing that keeps them on going....

It's not about banning caffeine, it's about the ridiculous easiness of administering an overdose. Who the fuck measures out 1/16th of a teaspoon? It's like asking a getbigger to be a chemist.

Hahahaha.. did you guys read what the article said !??! to these moron brits, a full teaspoon of caffeine powder just 'didn't seem' like it was a very big large dose... even though a standard 100mg cap of caffeine is aprox. 1/16th of a teaspoon...I never realized before how dumb the brits actually are.. WOW. and the moron gulped it down with an ENERGY DRINK... lol

The solution to this problem is very simple: use caffeine in forms that are already highly diluted, like tea and coffee. It is unlikely that you would have an overdose of caffeine by drinking drip coffee since you would need to drink more coffee than there is room in your stomach for it.

I used to take at least 200mg caffine in tabs before a workout.

I stopped after I started feeling ill etc. Did not affect my workout at all. Now I drink decaff coffee and have better workouts. Feel much better for it also.

And that's also the reason why the concept of modern western social democracy is doomed.

If some idiot chooses to die because of his own idiocy, let it be so and stop ruining the fun for all the others. Society should adopt to the best they have, not the biggest idiots.

At least this is a point where we can learn from China.

Nuts can kill lots of people yet they will not be banned.

Buying caffine powder seems like someone knew what they were looking for. It is not a normal common purchase. He should have known about it or read the label. Still a shame someone lost a family  member/friend.

You can die from almost too much of anything.  Too much milk will kill you, too much water will as well.  I wouldn't worry about caffeine going anywhere.
