They tried before  and failed.

It wont be like NFL Europe was, the plan is to have a franchise based in London that will play regular season NFL games, not in a separate league. It could work I reckon.

Big problem is the timezones. Football is very dependent on tv coverage/ads revenue. Having a team that is 5 hrs ahead of EST would be a nightmare.

People that follow it understand the rules with no problems...most kids do as well since someone will have a copy of john madden football. From what I can see its very much london/ rugby players that follow it (rugby is big in london and the west country)
There will be large parts of the country where people have never seen a game, but put it this way, nearly every male friend I have in london will be able to follow an NFL game, and some have a team they follow. 49ers packers patriots cowboys and dolphins are the popular teams. I support the eagles.

Got to say though this game has been dreadful...only one field goal in 3 quarters so far...yawn
very cool, you should support the Texans though  ;)

yea that game isnt very good and san frans starting qb is out too and denver hasnt been doing all that well this season.

lol...the british fight song? pray tell what is that?

Dr Chimps, the games would all have to kick off around 6:30 or 7:30 in the evening for it to be viable in the USA. football games here can start as late as 8:15 so i dont think it would be too much of a problem with the east and central based teams. West coast could be a problem.

I got to say I like rugby a lot more, if only because it is ongoing (or more so).

yeah big fan of rugby as well. But as you know its loaded with class prejudices (which i really cant stand), I get tired of rugby fans declaring how much better and more civilised they are than footy fans...even tho i love playing the game...NFL is an easy transition for a lot of rugby fans tho, big hits, fast hard running, and genuine tough nuts that dont roll around at the faintest touch of contact.

What is the purpose of Coaches and why are they always angry?   ???

My personal observation and hypothesis is that its just a meme and that has been established and followed year after year.  I mean they aren`t actually doing anything, they aren`t the ones chasing the other men and their balls around.  Perhaps the Coaches like the role of a Daddy figure so that when the costumes come off in the locker room and the season is over, he can invite them all to the team Christmas Party where each player can bounce up and down on his lap and tug on his Santa beard while his Offensive Coordinator fixes Eggnog Daiquiris for this all male celebration.
;D

I didn't realize the UK had such a big NFL fan base.

A big push by the super rich to get people ready for one world government
