Crownshep, that dude Billy Payne was no joke.
Why did he stop competing?
It is interesting to note that some of the very best rarely step foot on stage.  I can think of:  Jeff King (could have given Haney a run for his money had he been NPC), Ray Mentzer (I know someone who saw him at 290 in the days that nobody was 290) and this guy.
How did he train?

Those pics are from 1990 and he had just qualified for the British Champs by beating Mick Theo, then a couple of weeks before the brits he pulled out of the show,i did read he broke his wrist, don`t know how true that was.Billys problem was getting shredded,he got in good shape, but not quite the condition that was needed back then.Mick theo won the heavyweights that year at the brits.Billy used to come to the nightclub i worked at,and at one point he was 270lbs in decent shape at 5"8`and all of a sudden dissappeared off the scene. He is back training and talking about a comeback next year, but he`s now in his late 40s so i don`t know if he intends on competing in a over 40s class or the heavies. Heres his facebook page.

He either should have pushed the necessary evelope back then, or just stayed "retired" from competition.
Why put yourself through those kind of rigors and supplement usage in your late 40's???
Dude was awesome, but I think doing what is required to get to that level at 45+ is foolish.

i have trouble taking james llewelyn seriously since his claims on a board over here that i frequent had him claiming he's never gone above 500mg of test e a week  ::)

Thats right,Dorian has said he is the strongest guy he ever trained with and both Doz and Peter McGough have said he had the best potential of anyone.Heres a few recent pics of him training from his facebook page.

Is that UK-M?
That board is far too biased.

Charles looks like he`s carved out of stone there,i`d take how he looks from 20 year ago compared to the olympia contestants of today.

X2, Charles looked far better in NABBA than in the IFBB, the lighting at the 1990 NABBA Universe was very good
