The tone of our political debate is a lot more mature...compare British political discussion programmes to American ones. Its probably the biggest cultural distinction I can point too (doesnt mean the cheap shots over here arent just as cringingly bad, its just more civilised)

As for people it depends on the individual doesnt it? But I've spent enough time on UK and US College campuses to know there's a fair share of drunken arseholes in both countries who act like complete morons.
