Georges St. Pierre Studies Josh Koscheck for UFC 124
« on: November 03, 2010, 08:44:51 AM »
"Yeah, I think (Josh Koscheck) is going to try to put me down. I also think he’s going to try to knock me out with his big right hand but I know him. I’ve been studying so much tape on him, I’ve got to the point where I know Josh Koscheck probably better than he even knows himself. My coaches have been studying him a lot. Being with him on the Ultimate Fighter for eight weeks was a way for me to know him a little bit better as a person and as a fighter."

"People think my takedowns come from wrestling but I’ve done karate for so long. You can use karate as a set up for punching people, to cover distance, or to put someone down. I use it to cover the distance and put people down, and I’m very good at it. A guy like Lyoto Machida does it too. So it’s more than just wrestling, it’s about fighting itself."

Unless Kos has drastically changed his standup, GSP will end up grinding out a decision via takedowns and a little gnp.

This is going to be a very interesting rematch.  I think Kos has a good chance of forcing GSP to keep this standing.  If that's the case, who knows what will happen.  Kos has KO power.  GSP is more well rounded.  I don't see this as a 5 round hugging match...

Kos by TKO Round 2.

I will bet you any amount of money you can get your hands on that Koscheck loses this fight decisively. It will be a 5-0 decision drubbing or a TKO.

I don't see Kos beating GSP right now, unless he pulls some Matt Sera kinda shit out of his ass.

Haha--- not so confident are ya?

We can just have a friendly bet like we did before. Also, Rampage and Machida is coming soon and so is Velasquez and JDS.

Pretty confident, but vegas odds don't seem to agree.

Friendly bet again George in re to KOZ/GSP.  As for the Machida fight, we'll pick the whole card.

Ok your on.

I think that I am going to reverse my fortunes in the Rampage fight because Im picking him (for the hell of it, not because I think he will win). Hopefully I'll pick every other fight correctly, because Im confident Machida is going to beat him badly in the main event.

::)  machida is best with aggressive fighters.  He's a counterpuncher.

How can you possibly argue the guy doesn't do well against an aggressive opponent?  He's a counterpuncher?!

Quit talking out of your ass dude.

Bad match up for rampage in styles. Especially if his camp is 80% him making weight 20% actual fight preparation. I can see him possibly getting sub'd gas out after 2 rds in a snoozefest if he comes out of shape.

In shape..could be interesting to see if lyoto can hold up to his power when he lands.

He's barely gonna land.  Rampage is powerful, but SLOW.  This is a cake walk for Machida.

When exactly do they fight anyway? Before KOS and GSP?

LOL, sure thing cocktrain. There is a difference in aggression levels between "pushing the pace" of the fight and "taking the fight" to someone.

I'll let you think about what the difference is. :)
