The Ideal Era for living.
« on: November 04, 2010, 07:44:31 AM »
So post your year you were born and when you wished you were born.

87 it's cool and all were the inbetween gen that knows what it's like to live without/with the interenet equally. Just going to school and reliezing there's a whole generation of kids that don't know what its like to be disconnected from the net for more than 5 minute intervals freaks me out./

I wish I was born in 62. would of been born at just the right time to see pumping iron(15) would of been around the cool as 80's. And I'd still be able to post on here today.

the only permanent in this world is change... unfortunately sometimes the change will go through some various, ehm, "mutations" before it changes for the better but I think at the end, it will all go for the better... through shit and storm.

Sorry I don't speak finnish but all I can say all times are generally equal, but if you have interest in certain things some times are better than others. Wanting to have condom free sex every night of the week was much easier 30 years ago than it is now. Just the same if you wanna play guitar in a band it was much easier 30 years ago than it is now.

The 80's and early 90's were a great time to be in a band. The music scene has changed drastically in that time, and not for the better. Can't say as I miss having 'big hair' though, but at least I've still got the hair.

I was born in 68 and I started lifting after seeing Pumping Iron and prepping to hit football tryouts. Supplements tasted like shit back then though.

Lol the hair thing is one of  the few reason I'm glad to be alive in this day and age. It must of sucked having a shaved head back in the 70's. Now with the advent of ufc and multiracial culture, it's kinda excepted.

Haha yeah. Back in the day you HAD to have hair to get laid and the longer/bigger the better. If you were bald you ended up having one huge arm.  ;)

FUCK OFF!!!!  ;D 70's hair = man hair :P

Anyway, about your reply to mine, I was merely referring to your rant on today's faults... that the only permanent thing is change, wether it requires internets, new age sciences, the arrival of the antichrist etc... whatever it takes, change will happend and the course won't change.

Born in '64 so I grew up in the 70's as an early teen, 80's in my late teens, and 90's in my late 20's. Living in the SF Bay Area, I got to see a lot of major changes.

I think living as a Native American in a place like the west coast before it was untouched by white man would have been a pretty fucking amazing life.  Hard yet very rewarding.  I mean shit think about it.......life is so fake nowadays especially being a man.  Back then you had to literally protect your family, be brave, courageous, fight off animals, fight off other males/tribes, hunt, survive winter.  What do most men do nowadays?  Go to the gym and lift weights?  Drive around in a car and go to a job in an office?

ive thought about this extensively; here are some ideal scenarios:

1. born 1900 in britain...would get to live at the height of the empire, travel and see the world from the perspective/time when we ruled the earth..too young for WW1 and too old for WW2 but still get to live thru the experience

2. id like to have been my current age during the american eras of the 20's, 50's or the 80's

I wish you were born 200 years ago, that way you would already be dead.

Hope that helps.

Rome in the age of Julius Caesar?
Greece in the age of Pericles?
Philadelphia in the 1770's?
Paris in the 1850's, or, later, the start of Impressionism?
London in the Age of Discovery?

Maybe hanging with Dom Perignon, sampling his wares, until he got it right?   ;D
