As usual you insult me for no reason,I said nothing about you but as I said they had to let these expire because of democrats. Here is the explanation you stupid fucking lib idiot.

One of the most notable characteristics of EGTRRA is that its provisions are designed to sunset, or revert to the provisions that were in effect before it was passed. EGTRRA will sunset on January 1, 2011 unless further legislation is enacted to make its changes permanent. The sunset provision sidesteps the Byrd Rule, a Senate rule that amends the Congressional Budget Act to allow Senators to block a piece of legislation if it purports to significantly increase the federal deficit beyond a ten-year term. The sunset allowed the bill to stay within the letter of the PAYGO law while removing nearly $700 billion from amounts that would have triggered PAYGO sequestration.

Do you now understand you fucking dunce?Because of the Robert KKK Byrdd rule, the republicans HAD to let it expire to avoid breaking the Byrd rule and it allowed the bill to stay in the PAYGO law. So,keep insulting me ,but do some fucking research before you do.They had to let them expire or sunset to pass it because of left wing lib idiots like Robert KKK Byrd.

exactly what I said in the first place and what you called a total lie and lib revisionist history

Straw - why do you believe the Dems got murdered on Tuesday in areas like PA, VA, OH, WI, MN, etc?  .

i think it was mostly a classical rebalancing of power and no doubt some disatisfaction with Obama from both Teabagger and Repubs (who already hated him) and Dems/progressives who were unhappy that he didn't follow through on some of his promises or had greater expectations.

I also think a large portion who came out to vote in the presidential election just didn't bother to show up for the mid-terms.   That's kind of the reason why people like O'Donnell won the primary in her state.  The people who would have supported her Republican rival just didn't bother to show up and instead they got a Dem for their laziness

How do you explain the incredible shift in women voters and independants? Also, republicans picked up 680 seats in state houses[another record],if all elections are local, how do you explain that?

By the way, your wrIGHT on ODonnell.Reid DESTROYED ODonnells opponent in the primary. He started his dirty attack ads way back then.Nevada is a dark blue state.By the time the primary vote came arounf ODonnells opponent was obliterated.

I agree with you on that but think that unless the economy tuerns around by 2012 - the same dynamic will play out.  People are just not going to be that excited in 2012 as they were in 2008 if the economy is still in the toilet.

Let the tax cuts expire for the top bracket, keep it for the lower brackets.  PERIOD.  That is fiscal sensibility.

Why? and How? Since when does the fucking Federal Government get to decide who is and isn't rich? They are the fuckers spending money like its free, why should the tax payer be penalized for zero fiscal responsibility at the federal level.

I know you're a "low rep" kind of guy but you should try working on your attention span

actual fact

you're seriously stupid if you don't know this

Repubs passed the Bush tax cuts with reconciliation and since it increased the deficit the only way to get it through was to have it sunset in 10 years.

even at the time when these were passed there wasn't enough support for them so they had to use reconciliation.   At that time we had a budget surplus and (at the time of the first round) weren't yet involved in any wars.

Simple solution would be to keep the cuts for the lower income earners and let the cuts for the higher earners expire.    That would be an example of compromise and I recall Boehner actually said he would be OK with that:

Quote
"If the only option I have is to vote for those at 250 and below, of course I'm going to do that. But I'm going to do everything I can to fight to make sure that we extend the current tax rates for all Americans," Boehner told CBS' "Face the Nation."

didn't say I was offended by it

my point, which I stated, was that there wasn't even enough support for them at a time when we had a budget surplus and no wars
