You're basically saying the only way progress could be made was for it to be highjacked by mainstream politicians? Perhaps. It still has nothing to do with Ron Paul's ideals as all those politicians are just lying dirtbags taking advantage of a movement that they see as politically advantageous to support.

Rand Paul is a lying dirtbag?

No, but his views on overseas intervention does not fit the orginal Tea Party views. You do have a bit of a point though by suggesting it will take time to make the proper changes. We have moved forward in terms of the discussions that are more present these days but we'll see if that translates to action.

No, but there is a reason I like the father but not the son; Rand Paul has a neo-con foreign policy agenda. His father never has.
I hate the State.

Look - am I happy at the pace of change?   HELL FUCK NO!   But to me this is going to be a process, not an event.   Yes, the Tea Party have made a number of stumbles, but if you look at what has been accomplished in only two years - HOLY SHIT!

RAND PAUL & BACHMANN call for a Tea Party Caucus

MARCO RUBIO - young hispanic on freaking fire against big govt and speaking daily against the GOP business as usual

PAT TOOMEY - very far to the right in PA of all places.

JOHNSON IN WI - businessman just beat Feingold, a far left progressive.

Lt. Col West in FL - black man in the Tea Party elected as GOP House member.

Rep. Scott - same

Ron Paul now heading chairmanship against the Fed Reserve

Many RINO's ousted in the primaries.  Yes in the general the GOP ran some bad candidates - we we got rid of a lot of dead wood.

Christie in NJ kicking major ass against the public unions.

Palin got 18-20 tea party elected over far left progressives in the House of Reps.

Cap & Trade and Card Check now DOA

So, in two years, yes there have been some set backs, but by and large - there have been many victories, and hopefully it continues on to a full audit of the Fed Reserve, Repeal of ObamaCare, and cutting spending.

Yes I get that we still have to deal with McConnell, Gramhm, McCain, etc, but its not going to happen all at once.

The key is to keep the pressure on from within where actual things can happen.

Had the Tea Party stayed with a bunch of Truthers, Anarchists, Alex jones types, etc, as opposed to what occured, we would still be dealing with Speaker Pelosi and looking down the barrell of Cap & Trade, etc .

Guess what?  There is the reality side of things and the academic-theoretical side.  I don't need to agree with someone on 10/10 things to support them.

For me - agreeing with Rand on 8/10 things sure beats a left wing commie traitor I agree with on 1/10 things.

Fair enough but I am just sceptical as usual. I will just wait and see what happens, in particular if Rand Paul is immune to corruption the way his father has been.

Who the heck cares that Rubio is hispanic or the Lt. Col. West is Black?
What is the significance? Why do you single out their ethnicities and no one else's?
And why do you apply such significance to the ethnicities of Blacks and hispanics?
Are you capable of just seeing people? Must everyone be "colour coded" in your world?  ::)

he's made it clear in the past how the "urban jungle" has effected his views and how people like me that live outside it don't have the background to argue otherwise...

So if these people fuck up will you blame Palin?

I am ecstatic over Ron Paul's new position.  I hope it can be springboard to take down all directions of useless government.

A black man getting elected to congress out of SC as a member of the GOP, man that's a rarity, so of course it's worth mentioning. It's something that simply never happens.

Oh, so what you're saying is that America is even more racist than I previously thought? Gotcha!

You people who twist things like this are unreal.

So it's a big deal when a black man becomes president? Yep, it was a big deal because its never happened. Does it matter what color someone is? Of course not, it doesn't matter at all, not in terms of qualifications or anything like that...but when Obama won, his race still carried with it some special significance for the simple fact that it was a break through in that regard.

Now we have a black man who wins a seat as a GOP candidate. To begin, a black man who even supports the GOP is rare, being that blacks support the democratic party almost 100% exclusively...so sure, this is also a rarity but it has nothing to do with racism...give me a break.

Ron Paul vows renewed Fed audit push next year
Reuters ^ | 11/6/10 | Andy Sullivan

"I think they're way too independent. They just shouldn't have this power," Paul, a longtime Fed critic, said in an interview with Reuters. "Up until recently it has been modest but now it's totally out of control."

Ron Paul Rips Paul Krugman: I Pray Every Night his Views -- Just Disappear (Video)
Media Research Center ^ | November 8, 2010 | Jeff Poor

________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ___________

Moves by the Federal Reserve and its chairman Ben Bernanke for a second round of quantitative easing, otherwise known as QE2, have many warning the long-term viability of the U.S. dollar is in jeopardy. But according to the Fed’s view – it’s necessary to stave off even further financial calamity.

However, The New York Times Paul Krugman argues that the Fed isn’t doing enough. He wrote in the Nov. 8 issue of the Times that current policy is “watered down” and “almost guaranteed to fail,” suggesting political pushback was keeping the Federal Reserve from really breaking down and opening up the monetary floodgates.

However, in an appearance on CNBC’s Nov. 8 “Squawk Box,” Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, rebutted Krugman’s alleged expertise on this matter. He had some very stern words about Krugman and how economic metrics and history show massive Fed intervention doesn’t work.

I'm sorry, I guess I'm just so used to seeing Colin Powell, Alan Keyes, Steele and Farrakhan etc., all self-acknowledged Republicans... I didn't realize it was so rare. What is NOT so rare however, is 333's propensity for highlighting the race of those who don't happen to be white? That was what I was getting at?
