Wrong again Lion.
No where is it a requirement to perform benchpress or squat in order to be a bodybuilder.
Besides, Most bodybuilders don't do barbell benchpress or squats. Bob Chick sure didn't - at least not for the last 15 years.
Remember- what constitutes a sport is not the preperation for the sport but actually what takes place DURING THE SPORT it'self.
Bodybuilding Fail.
well u have to perform some move,, i used a cpl as an example,, i didnt feel like typin every single move there is,,, its not like u can just take drugs and not train at all....
and yeah a lot of ppl dont do bb bench or squat what ever but they do something.... some type of movement that imparts resistance on the muscle is required so fill in the blank with bench fly press db bb i it dont really matter the point is some kinda exercise is needed
now, u pikd that part about the move,,, semantics again,,, onto the other point i made re the plan and intent of posing to display strength and hide weakness while exposing ur competition...
today they hold a pose for 2 secs tops and huff and puff but back in the day the held the shot and paired it w others without getting winded and needing to be towled down,,, it is less sporty nowadays...
and in most sports the training and the preperation is where the work is,, the actual event is really the easy part if u do ur homework... and nooone would compete in any event without training, well they could but they wouldnt do well compared to someone that does train.
performing a task with intention to execute it better than someone else is sport....
war can be considered sport just like business...
anything can be debated,,, its all semantics
Has anybody ever thought that maybe Jay said what he said to skirt the obvious question of steriods in sports and in bodybuilding? Because Pro bodybuilding IS drugs, and to legitimize bbing in a discussion as asport, there will be the inevitable discussion of drugs. So to skirt this, you defuse any encroachment of the question, or of the comparison.
wrestling used to be called a sport until someone didnt want to pay the state athletic com and gate tax, drug policy etc...
every major pro sport is drugs anyways,, media sales society it all ties in,,, only thing is bb'n is so obvious and in ur face with the extreme muscle mass and condi,,, more extreme than a jakd 270lb linebacker so ppl can overlook the football player because they think its not extreme,,, meanwhile being 370 and runnin a 4.8 40 while playn line ppl dont think a guy like thats using bc he dont look like a pro bb....
