I peak in on alot of other bodybuilding sites and while there may be sites with more people than this one, this one site consistently gets brought up on other sites...Usually with disdain...point is people are talking...We all know that certain people with power monitor this site and cry to Yaroni when they don't like a thread...
Is it because Yaroni is the allows the freest speech out there?
Is it the colorful cast of characters? Goodrum, Pre-child 240 (Sorry Rob)...
GH15?
Sarcasm,Sqaudfather, QuakerOats?
The history and stories?
All of the above? Discuss....
With that said, I wonder what the first Bodybuilding forum was...I'm guessing Getbig or elitefitness...I was on both and quit EF when they started charging years ago.

hahah havent done it in a while since i quit weed and now have the heart problems. i had to slow down this morning fucking my girl doggystyle it was like i was breathing in but the oxygen wasnt getting to me like it should i thought i was going to pass out  i did have heavy meal of french toast and cereal , i may need to do a drastic diet makeover, life sucks when you know something is wrong with your health . i just have to really think about what i am going to do about it the thing is my fasting triglicerides and cholesterol are all normal so yeah no fucking answers maybe its all just 2012 |

One of the first bodybuilding/strength training groups I ever visited was Misc.fitness.weights 12 or so years back, it was sorta like if you slammed getbig, bodybuilding.com, and goheavy.com all together. There were very few groups back then, so everyone from Pat Arnold to Fred Hatfield to Vic Richards to Craig Titus to Dan Duchaine was forced to mingle. You had no moderation, so you had trolls galore, lots of cross posting wars, etc...., but the thing that made it special was that no one was afraid to call out anyone on bullshit. Sadly, with the advent of regular forums and spambots, the news groups slowly died off. I think that's the reason why I come here, it's the closest to the good old days I could find. Overmoderation and small audiences have killed off lots of forums over the years, but this is one that still seems decent in that regard. |
