They have been getting some serious brakes.schedule has fallen their way and they are playing a bunch of nobody's at opposing QB.

But they're playing well.  Eli's been great, Osi and company look like they've gotten used to not having Spagnulo around, and they're not beating themselves.

They're the top team in the NFC, and should be right there around playoff time fighting with Green Bay, NO, Philly? etc...

I think so...I cant believe they've only played 1 game in conference so far.

Doesn't mean anything. The Cowboys are likely the worst team in the NFL and the Redskins just benched McNabb. The Eagles are good but they're not great.

The Giants can run, throw, and play mean defense. If they stopped turning over the ball I'd put them right there with Pittsburgh as the two best teams in the NFL.

Ill say this.

1. you can only play whos on your schedule.

2. the giants are a completely different team from there 1-2 start.

But the defense that everybody is raving about haven't gone up against a top notch offense yet......I'll wait until I see that first.

Did andre johnson play in that game?  Plus they gave up 35 to the Cowgirls....and half of that was with Kitna running the show.  So far the Giants have played three top to mid-tier teams.....lost to Colts, lost to Titans and beat Texans.....the true test will be Philly.

the 4th quarter of the cowboy game was meaningless and there was no doubt what the outcome of the game would be.

and the 21 points dallas scored in the 1st half were from turnovers inside the redzone.

dallas netted no more than 60 yards for those 21 points.

The defense was actually dominating dallas. Romo was yet another victim  8)

Yep, and honestly the reason I was questioning the Giants def is that they gave up way too many big plays, sustained drives, but were coming up with sacks or int's to offset it.....you can't live that way for a whole season and not have a couple of games where you don't get the big plays.

You're better than this. Everyone is missing key players. Payton is missing his entire starting team and he is winning.

Going into the season, every team knows that they are going to lose key players to injury. They must prepare for this with depth. Injuries (and planning for them) are just as much a part of the game as who you put in each slot to start.

Of course, if you are decimated by injuries (like the colts) it's a legit excuse....but, three or four starters? That everyone in the NFL right now. Name me a team that's not missing three or four key guys.

Understood, but consider the amount of players he is missing.  Lets say Eli is 70% as good as his brother. On the flipside, Payton is missing 8-10 starting players on his team. I'd say that advantage is somewhat equalized.

And the Giants play in a weaker division.

I'm sorry, but the injury excuse is only valid if you have significant losses on your team. Even then, you should have the depth to not drop off a cliff if a couple of your 1a guys go out.

I agree.  Every team has a significant amount of injuries by this time in the season so it's a moot point.  Eli just makes some dumbass plays that his brother seldom/if ever does.  That int was awful in the endzone and then late in the game the gay little shovel pass looking thing after the botched snap was pitiful.

I think really what it comes down to is that some players are only as good as those around them, like Eli.....and others elevate others like Peyton and Rivers.....had to sneak him, as he is a damn near one man wrecking crew on SD this year.

You're right.

Rivers is killing it. Here are my mvp's: Rivers, Brady or Manning. You can make cases for all of them.

I know what you're saying and yes everybody gets injury's.what I'm saying I just felt this game would be tough.
the injury's didn't come on the Giants like a trickle but they all except for center came in one week.
tough to prepare for that.

Youre one of the best drafting teams in the NFL. They've prepared for this. They just lost brotis, plain and simple.
