Money talks.

Rand Paul, the next Republican US senator from Kentucky, has done an about-face on earmarks even before taking office.

In an interview published over the weekend with the Wall Street Journal, Paul signaled a major backtrack on a core campaign promise: cutting federal earmarks. The promise is a hallmark of Republican candidates of all stripes, who advocate that a smaller government is in the national interest and that money doled out for special progress is tantamount to backroom dealing.

"In a bigger shift from his campaign pledge to end earmarks, he tells me that they are a bad "symbol" of easy spending but that he will fight for Kentucky's share of earmarks and federal pork, as long as it's doled out transparently at the committee level and not parachuted in in the dead of night," Paul told the Journal for an interview published Saturday.

This is the same crap you like to spew on the stim bill.  If the KY taxpayers are going to get taxed on this shit - then at least the taxpayers should get something for it.

But I guess that is too far beyond you to grasp.

Sounds to me like he bit off more than he could chew.  He isn't for an end to earmarks at all.  Only an end to earmarks not for KY.
Abandon every hope...

I see.

he'll only do what he promised to do the financially responsible move - the only one which provides our nation financial viability - if everyone else does it.

Fair enough.  There's your tea party, guys.  Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.  Enjoy Obama winning 45 states in 2012 because republicans realize their solution was no solution at all.

Yes,its very responsible for Rand Paul to tell KY residents that they have to pay for Michigan and California. Not surprising a lib like you believes that. Its the democrats whole agenda, those that produce should pay for those who dont.I live in Indiana, why the fuck should my state ,which has a good economy and good governance pay for losers in Michigan for being led by idiots.
