Back in 1990 Russia China and the US made an unspoken pakt.
In order for the world order to work - in order to keep the balance balanced, you need to have the following ingredient.
A wellfare stated - Europe (which is powerful in its own right but pacified)
A superpower that is accepted as a superpower but NEVER EVER can act like one (Russia)
A superpower that always looks like it could act like one but isn't (China)
Thats the whole reason the Georgian incident was so scary, soviet union had enough of only playing the superpower and for the first time in a long time actually acted like one - which got everybody scared since nobody knew what they would do next, all of a sudden nobody knew again what cards everybody else on the table was holding.
I call it the Ritch uncle inch incident - Picture yourself having lunch with your rich uncle - both parties know he will pay - but when the bill comes you
have to at least pretend that you want to pay the bill, where the rich uncle at the end takes the bill and pays it - now imagine your suprise if the rich uncle would say - Thanks okay you pay.
