Just got a job offer from TSA to become an airport screener

I filled out an application a year ago and they just got back with me.  While I'm not sure as to whether or not I'll accept, I intend to apply my years of work as a security officer as well as in corrections will provide a safe and unique experience for incoming and outgoing passenger.

I promise to you that it will be my mission that no package will go unchecked as I am very diligent in identifying bombs and other prohibited items.  I have performed many searches in my day and I am very thorough with performing those duties.

If a person is interested in the kind of work TSA/Corrections entails, why not just become a police officer?

As a profesional pilot flying 15-20 days a month I have come to the conclusion that TSA agents are a bunch of worthless fags. You would fit in perfectly! Tell me why do I as a pilot have to go through security? I don't need to sneak a weapon on board I have a crash axe in the cockpit! I Promise if I ever see goodrum as a TSA agent I will punch him in the face and take pics for no worries.

First off I am mad, because im grossly underpaid i wont deny that.  I'm currently working under a contract that was written more then 10 years ago with no increase for cost of living built in.  Our contract expired 5 years ago but we are unable to strike without congressionaly approval thanks to the Railway Labor Act.  But seriously these TSA tards are going to protect us?  Do you know the requirement to become a TSA Agent?  Its a fucking GED OR similiar security experience ie. a FUCKING MALL COP.  Our weakest link in air security is the TSA.    All it takes is one terrorist to pay off one of these tards and its 9/11 all over again.  I realize not all TSA agents are idiot but its not like they are hiring the elite here.There  have been numerous stories over the years about TSA agents stealing items from bags, inappropriate groping, off duty telling people they are federal agents and trying to intimidate them.  Too much power in the hands of morons.  RANT OVER!

There are bad apples in any job, you know that..I'm a FAM so I know what those folks go through. Requirements dont mean a whole lot, when you look at the type of training and testing they get. They are there to keep you safe! plain and simple. Attack the policy's all you like, but to attack the people who are doing what they have to shows a small mind.
