No. It's an idea that was made into a movie. It got a lot of hype for being so 'brave' when it first came out and people cited it, like a book they wanted to impress others with. It's interesting in 5-minute chunks, but oh brother, it's boring.

it's like, yeah- that's a pretty "smart" movie but what is the point of posting it here.....isn't this the forum where their is a 1000 page thread where two guys discuss who is better- the White, British muscle man or the Black muscleman?

I really liked it, tbomz. Aged pretty well too imo. Took me ages to get it on torrent with only 2 seeds. Glad to see it's up for everyone on YouTube.

yea, i think it is brilliantly insightful! and i was instantly turned on by the format (teacher-student dialogue, the same format used by tons of great philospher's works throughout the ages). both of them give well developed replies and it flows so smoothly.

at first glace you might think so, but by the films reception so far in this thread, its quite obvious to me that i was correct in putting up the "intellectual/deep thinker" label. no point in telling the lay person about a movie they wont find any interest in, nor get any enjoyment out ot it. better to clasify from the outset that only those who consider themselves to be intellectuals/deep thinkers should watch, that way no one wastes any time and i dont have to sift through replies from dummies.

obviously there some works meant for intellectuals and deep thinkers..........but to acknowledge it is kind of self important........even though its true
