The up keep on a 300k car is where people run into problems. The 5k mile tune up can run 5-10 grand alone. 800 dollar oil changes etc.  And most 300k cars aren't daily drivers. Which means they're sitting in a garage collecting dust and depreciating.
Thats why they sell them when the first big maintenance appointment comes around...

Thats because it's a modern day interpretation of the Bentley R Type Continental from 50s, which was the fastest 4 seater of the day, just like the Bentley Continental GT was supposed to be. See the resemblance?

yup. i can get the nostalgia behind keeping the lines and i respect it, but i dunno, i think if i were going to spend that kind of money i'd want a car with more 'pop'. it all comes down to personal preference. i think to the number of people buying them makes them less appealing. around here you'll see bentley's every once in a while. never see a 955. its just got that wow factor for me when i see it for some reason.

955? That's Porsche's internal code for the Cayenne, I believe. You mean 959?

no way. I do not buy that it would cost anything over a couple hundred per oil change. 5 k mile tune ups are for older models. These days it's 10-15k per tune up/oil change, unless you're just being anal.

Tune up on this car was $1200 and that was 15 years ago.  Insurance is probably around $7000 to $10,000 a year on the Bentley easy.  My uncle was paying $36,000 a year on a brand new Rolls silver spirit and brand new Testarossa together.  That was back in the early 80's

If you're replacing parts, maybe, but a typical oil change no way. I'm reading current tune-ups on bentley's run approx. 1500 depending on the parts needing to be replaced but an oil change no more than a couple hundred bucks.
