In PBW top 10 program, they said that the IFBB/NPC is introducing a women's physique division and likely that women's bodybuilding will die out in a couple of years.  While I think women's bodybuilding is way over-the-top and the bodies are ridiculously masculine, doesn't it seem stupid to create another division in an already crowded women's section?  (Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini, Physique)  Why not just do what they should have done a long time ago and judge the bodybuilding division to match the qualities they say they want for the physique division? 

Creating a physique division will just muddy the waters more.  Even if women's bodybuilding dies out, the IFBB/NPC will screw it up and revive the masculine look of current women bodybuilders through poor judging in the physique division. 

Why not keep traditional Women's Bodybuilding but resort to the old double standard. Drug test the Women-only (not the men), in the NPC/IFBB. At least this would eliminate the grotesque, non-marketable Women's physiques that are turning off the BB mainstream today. This way the so-called Women's physique division wouldn't even be neccessary. Love those natural Women's physiques!

Completely disagree with this but we've discussed this before so.... 

You mentioned that the score was meaningless. Fair enough. Why not then make the posing score meaningful? If that doesn't work then you at least have some justification for turning posing into little more than an entertainment type of side show.

In terms of a competitive event though, the art of posing ought to have some impact on the final placings, especially if you want to make it a viable part of competition.

I would start the pre-judging with the posing round.  This would give the judges an individual first look at all the competitors.  From there you can go into comparisons.  It would still be a physique round, but at least it would be a prominent part of the competition, not an afterthought.

I thought of that idea too but I think that the posing round should separate the finalists otherwise there would be scores of boring posing routines. If you make the posing round (or at least posing) a meaningful part of competition, then its standard ought to improve.
