insurance on any car in your name...
« on: November 24, 2010, 06:37:03 PM »
Some idiot told me that there's a new law now, and that I can't cancel the insurance on any car that's in my name?  Regardless of whether or not I'm driving it?

WTF???

I hope that's not true.  That would be stupid.

Had a cop tell us that we needed to license a vehicle even if it's not running and on private property...  clueless...

As disgusting as that is... it's true.  In my neighbourhood, if you park your car in your driveway, it MUST have a current sticker, otherwise it must be kept in the garage. If not, the municipality can order your vehicle towed from your own driveway and impounded at a cost of $60 / day. They can then sell it at auction after 30 days. If you don't pay the towing company the $1800 after they've sold your car to someone else... it ruins your credit.

Governments do things that if done by ordinary citizens would get them thrown in jail. It's absolute tyranny!

There was a guy out in Diamond Bar, CA that was ARRESTED for having a flat tire on his car that was sitting in the driveway.

Good job America.
