These different Economic ideologies are all flawed in one way or another.. Classical, Keynesian, the Austrian...

Peter Schiff is always spewing his Austrian economic stuff...Same old, same old..

Thousands protest against Irish bailoutMore than 100,000 people gather in Dublin to demonstrate against four-year austerity plan to reduce debts

More than 100,000 Irish citizens took to the streets of Dublin today to protest against the international bailout and four years of austerity.

Despite overnight snow storms and freezing temperatures, huge crowds have gathered in O'Connell Street to demonstrate against the cuts aimed at driving down Ireland's colossal national debt.

So far the march has passed off peacefully although there is a huge Garda presence with up to 700 officers on duty working alongside 250 security guards for the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

Among the marchers there is deep anger that most of the more than €80bn (£67bn) from the EU and the International Monetary Fund will be given to shore up Ireland's ailing banks.

Marching in the rally was Irish builder Mick Wallace who has had to lay off 100 workers due to the crash in the construction industry. Wallace said it was time the Irish became more militant.

"We should be more like the French and get onto the streets more often. Because our politicians go over to Europe and tell the EU that our people do not demonstrate, they don't take to the streets. It's time we changed that and openly opposed what is going on," he said.

Placards carried by the marchers reflect the mood of anger and humiliation at having to be bailed out by the EU and IMF. One was designed to look like an estate agent's billboard and read: "3,599 square miles For Sale. Full Planning Permission Granted".

The protest has not halted at the GPO in Dublin, the scene of the 1916 rising where trade unionists and workers are denouncing the government's cost cutting programme which will take €15bn out of the Irish economy over the next four years.

Great clip.

Here's the problem.  I'm sure there's a clip out there called Petey Schiff 2006 Financial Collapse".   He's been talking about it for years- we both have his book.

And if there isn't a collapse in 2011, we'll see him with clips saying 2012, 2013, 2014...

Things may not be happening as quickly but everything he has predicted is coming true 0 higher commodity prices, dollar devaluation, currency debased, etc etc

Of course.  And in 2, 20 or 200 years, eventually the dollar will expire its usefulness.

But he's 5 years off in his predictions (at least) at this point lol... Soon he becomes the doc that tells patients "you gonna die, dude" but can't say when.

Yes 333 that is a great video clip, ...but what I want to know is:

Why is it that when Peter Schiff says 'the dollar is going down, park your money in gold & silver' ...it's the truth,
...but when I say it, ...people scream bloody murder, call me an anti-USA type wishing for the demise of the US?

Peter Schiff is very right here, infact, I don't believe the US Government is as stupid as everyone claims them to be.

They know they can never repay their debt, so what is taking place here is a carefully crafted plan to crash the US Dollar, paying off their debts with worth less currency, while all the while knowing a restructuring will take place with gold as the primary component.

The US government is selling PAPER Gold hand over fist, ...but they are acquiring PHYSICAL gold.

What does that tell you?

THe government doesnt have to completely pay its debt. All it has to do is get non defense discretionary  spending back down to a managable level (2008 levels) and grow the economy. Then it has to tackle the long term problem of entitlements. See, what is so pathetic about the Obama Administration is that they have created a new short term problem with a vast increase in discretionary spending. We used to only have a long term problem with entitlement spending, but now the discretionary spending is killing us. The fucking retards in the media have conflated our short term discretionary spending problems and our long term entitlement spending problems. Republicans are saying they want to get spending back down to 2008 levels, and the media is acting like that is an ambitious thing to do. And they are criticising the Republicans for not wanting to make the "tough" choices of cutting entitlements. The USA Today is lamenting the expected "gridlock", saying that gridlock wont allow us to tackle the entitlement problems. I dont know about you guys, but I want gridlock to get here as soon as possible. It is sure as hell going to be better than what we have had the past two years.
