My awakening...
« on: November 26, 2010, 01:44:48 PM »
Daily HIIT training releases loads of chemicals, namely gh and test and a few others, and therefore "supercharges" the body, which in turn creates a prime environment to literally transform one's physique. Discuss

HIT training is fun. where'd you get the info about chemical release from?

Well, I read about it from some different sites on the net, and I've also experienced this chemical "super-charging" 1st hand ;D True HIIT training is brutally hard, but I'd say that it's worth the price that you gotta pay to really perform it right. In my experience it's almost like a finding the fountain of youth, coz of the energy boost and feelings of well-being that it creates, not to mention the way it dramatically improves ones appearance :)

But how is it possible to perform true tabata without a specialized stationary bike? Normal exercise bikes don't have enough resistance for a 20 sec burst, and there is no way in hell anyone can do true tabata on a treadmill. I think 1-min on/1-min off is much more realistic in a gym setting.

the problem with HIIT is that if you add several such sessions on top of regular weight lifting sessions it may be too much for the body to handle. the body can only handle so much high intensity stress.

Tabata can be done with just about anything....remember it is a theory of 20/10 that is MOST important and not the use of a bike

actually, the most important thing is that you WORK YOUR ABSOLUTE HARDEST DURING YOUR "SPRINT" INTERVALS

anyway, you can do so many things "tabata-style" and get a AMAZING fat burning effect
examples of exercises to do "tabata style":
Sprinting (at a track)
burpees
pretty much anytype of kettlebell movement
power snatchs
clean and press

I hear ya First Blood, but I have been doing HIIT nearly every single day now for the past for weeks, and the results have been outstanding! But, it's possible that part of this could be due to the fact that I am now regaining a previous level of outstanding conditioning, but I haven't had this outstanding level of conditioning in nearly 10 years, when my VO2 Max was measured at 71 ml/kg. Remember... There is such a thing as under-training as well.

Sorry Salvation, but I gots to disagree wit ya ma man! Those alternative methods that you mentioned are inferior, coz one can't get precise feedback from them and see that they are actually improving their condition. On a bike you can monitor exactly how your progress is going up or going down. But who knows? Maybe I am just a little to obsessed with measurable data and progress ;D

sometimes it's just about hard work and not making things too complicated. I have some friends they make insanely advanced training schedules but never follow them  ;D

keep it simple and work hard!!
