Sorry friend, the UFC were very much aware of what happened in boxing where the top fighters pick and choose their fights regardless of what any organization wants. The UFC didn't make that mistake and have crafted a very powerful organization. They decide who you fight, when you fight and how ofter you fight. I can assure you that Chris Leben wasn't too thrilled about taking a fight so soon after just getting out of the Octagon. You don't say no to the UFC. At least, not if you want to have a career.

I was using Chris as an extreme example of the power the UFC has. When they tell you to fight you fight. GSP will fight when the UFC tells him to. It's not up to him.

Exactly! You can only sustain rematch bouts for so long. There's nobody left. Seriously, who is left for him to fight that will make it worthwhile? Koscheck gets another shot because he's a personality and a shit talker and people want to see him get his ass beat. After this, then what? Only moving up to fight Silva will excite the fans.

BTW, there aren't enough real challengers to have GSP fight more then 2-3x year.  He's already cleaned out the division as is now giving everyone a 2nd turn.  If you want him fighting more often, he'll have to be fighting a bunch of cans...

GSP is dominant.  Best p4p fighter in the world in my opinion.  He dismantled Koscheck.  He worked that jab until Kos' eye was swollen completely shut.  He can outwrestle anyone.  He destroyed Fitch, too.  Who do you want him to fight?  He owns the division.  Calling him a "pussy" is just silly.

sonnen still made for a exciting fight though...he kept pressing the action...if it would have went to decision there wouldn't have been any doubts AT ALL...

i cant remember ever watching a shields fight going to decision without thinking "it could go to either"...he just isn't dominant..

another question that should be asked of GSP vs shields...would shields even in the perfect camp be able to have the same level of strength and endurance as GSP?...hell no!!..even when shields gets him down his window of opportunity will close too fast for him to be successful...its not like GSP is a noob at this fighting game...

i just dont think shields is anything special to talk about until he actually has a game to work with....he has a ground game, with pillow hands and legs....if he wants to do BJJ they have orgs for that....but if he wants to go after GSP level of fighter he needs to be much, much, much more well rounded than he is now...
