one look at the last pic posted with the thin ultra saggy pecs and glossy bloated gut the word great is way too generous.
He looked good for his first olympia win and the 2001 arnold. looked crap, bloated and droopy when he started getting bigger and too many weaknesses and glaringly poor structure at light weight

who doesn't belong in the conversation? Reeves? Sergio? because I mentioned both of them , you mentioned Yates  ;)

Coleman's ' genetics ' are great depending on the context best of all-time , my ass. his structure , balance & proportion are all nothing to right home about , his arms and calves are no where near the same size , he has a short torso , long legs and an over sized ass so big it can be seen from the front , you think that's great muscle proportion and balance? go read up on the subject and I don't mean Muscular Development

and having a hard time sharing your opinion with an ad hominem attack?

I can share my opinion in a non-aggressive way if I chose to...You and your yang buddy who shall not be named fuck up threads with your thoughtless dribble...You're not dragging me in the mud with you to waste years of my life...

Yes, I brought up Yates because you always find a way to put him in a category he doesn't belong or to bash Ronnie at any chance you get using the most unflattering photos and ignoring his best....So even based on your ideals then, Pre-synthol Wheeler is best...done...Reeves...l ol.... ::)  Underdeveloped everything....Swimmer proportions.

hahahaha so genetics only refer to what you like ?  ::) sorry great genetics isn't 24" arms and 17" calves go learn what real bodybuilding is and not what it's become.

according to who.....the Greeks thousands of years ago?

it's 2010 slim......just because some Greek homo liked his ass fucking partners built a certain way doesn't mean we have to uphold those standards forever....times change.

No, what's narrow minded is you trying to inject, people that don't belong in a conversation...
Number 1....lying by saying Coleman had 24 inch arms and 17 inch calves knowing it isn't true...Coleman's physique has transcended 2 eras of bodybuilding, Coleman was great smaller and symmetrical and as a mass monster...

Coleman played all the games and won all the games...Coleman looks good at 230 and at 280 no one else can do that....

You're a fucking idiot...

I don't think Coleman looked good at 280....I mean his conditioning got worse, his gut got bloated, proportions and symmetry suffered....just saying.

As far as structure, Reeves is near flawless.

absolutely , people 99% of the time equate genetics as small waist & hips and big arms and shape ( of certain parts )  it's a narrow minded approach and if that's all their mean by ' genetics ' then they aren't technically wrong just not looking at the whole picture.

I agree and I honestly used to think like that too, but after learning a bit I can see there is more to genetics than just shape or freakish size.

Yates' structure genetically was one of the best for example, his balance and proportions too.

he's a fucking twink. crappy thighs, thin shitty back, pathetic arms.

he had a trim waist and a good clean lower pec line, and the fucking latent homosexuals lose their mind over it.

Says you , I can easily say Dorian has outstanding genetics depending on the context  and again I NEVER typed his name and if I wanted to I would I don't need your permission , and bash Ronnie elaborate on that gem , I posted the truth his genetics are great ( depending on the context ) but to claim they are the best of all time is ignorant his natural structure leaves a lot to be desired

Flex's genetics are great too it all depends on what context you mean if you mean by natural structure Flex isn't the best he's narrow and his arms aren't in proportion and his calves were high and I could go on , if by best genetics you mean , true symmetry , muscle balance & proportion , structure Reeves hands down tramples Ronnie & Flex who both would be nothing without drugs and Sergio kills them both in this area as well  , if you mean shape and muscle size and muscularity Flex is hard to beat I would certainly put him above Ronnie

it's guys like you who already made up your mind and base everything on preference and bias that I enjoy correcting the most  ;) more to genetics than what you like sport.

I think he mentioned Reeves due to his structure, torso length, clavicle width, limb/leg length, small waist, etc. He didn't mention Reeves due to his muscle size or development which for the time being (50s) were great.

I think Flex Wheeler had an outstanding physique. But, his torso never allowed him to dominate. It was mostly his arms that grew as he was becoming bigger. His lack of width and thickness was very obvious in certain poses.

Take greats like Coleman, Yates and Haney. They all looked (even) better for real than in pics. This was especially visible in transitions between poses, not to mention just standing there... and their dominance were obvious when standing next to other competitors. I think Flex is the opposite. Some pics, and in certain poses, he looks phenomenal. But, next to others he fades a bit, and in many poses he 'disappears'. He simply didn't had the torso-structure to be the greatest - or to be considered as having the best genetics.

Haney though, had perhaps the best torso ever - especially and even when considering he retired at 31, and that he never pushed the envelope like the next greats...

Compare his torso - size and taper - with the 280-plus pound Coleman...
