333386,

Do you believe that Bristol palin is a public figure now?  Yes or no?

The answer is YES - and a public figure making millions of dollars selling her IMAGE, remember?  She is a PAID SPEAKER for her political views.  She is twenty years old- an ADULT.  She has an AGENT.  She's done interviews with multimple magazines.  She's an ACTOR - appearing on 3 shows now.  She's a political player - She OWNS a lobbying, public relations and political consulting services firm.  Hell, she did a MUSIC VIDEO for some alaska band.  She gives speeches for $30,000 per speech!

DUDE!

At some point, you're gonna have to stop saying "leave the kids out of it" for her - Yes, leave her big brother out of it.  Leave the rest of them out of it.  but SHE is an actress, a political player, and she's making millions of dollars getting her image OUT THERE.  She WANTS attention.  Do you get that?

nice job not answering the question.  ;)

For real, I think all the palin kids, all the obama kids, etc - they are all off limits.  I was wrong to bring that into the election discussion.

That being said - when a person makes $30k a speech and has a distinct political agenda for which she is paid- she is INTERJECTING HERSELF into the political arena as a fair topic.  She's not "off limits" - she's a millionaire actress.  And she runs a damn PAC! LOL!

Do you agree with that much?

it's the same way you have every right to criticize meaghan mccain, call her stupid, etc.  She's just a politician's daughter - BUT - she also has a poli blog, she gives speeches, and she goes on tv shows to espouse her beliefs.  So she is FAIR GAME.  It's okay to call her worst person in the world, if she delivers an ignorant statement or tells others how to live.

thanks.

I don't see a huge deal with an unwed teenage mom telling us that abstinence is the way to go.  She'd know better than anyone.  If it encourages one more trailer trash teenager to swallow instead of saying "finish in me", I'm happy.  less babies asking for govt handouts.

i don't get the problem liberals have with a teenage mom promoting abstinence.  Who better to do it?  Should someone who didn't have a baby as a teenager be a more appropriate spokesperson?  What the fuck do they know about the consequences of teenage sex?

The answer is liberals don't have a problem with a teenage mom promoting abstinence.  They have a problem with BRISTOL PALIN promoting abstinence because they hate anything conservative and jump at any chance to label someone they perceive as a threat a hypocrite.

I mean who the fuck thinks teenagers SHOULD be having sex?  How the fuck could you really argue AGAINST preaching abstinence for teens?  Should they be fucking more?  Should we find the teens that aren't fucking and find someone to fuck them?  Should I fuck them?  Help me out here libs.

And for the record I don't get the GOP's fascination with Palin.  I just don't get it.  And no I don't think she's stupid.  I just am not impressed with her...... at all.  I do however find myself constantly amused at how liberals are so frightened of her.  I am more and more puzzled by American politics every day.

Well said.  Completely agree.

No it hasn't

it's been don't have sex and get knocked up like I did

Her message is to be abstinent

Why not - don't be stupid like me and if you're going to have sex at least use birth control

Because it's awfully hard for girls to get pregnant if they aren't having sex. Darn near impossible, with the exception of one case about 2000 years ago (we celebrate that happening in about three weeks).

it's just as hard to stop teenagers from having sex if they want to

preaching abstinence is fine ( and I do mean preaching) but it's absurd to stick your head in the sand and pretend kids are not human.  They will have sex and so why not also promote birth control not only to prevent sex but to prevent STD's.  That would be the approach taken by a responsible adult.

"Abstinence Only" is delusional, unrealistic and completely ineffective in the real world

EXCLUSIVE: Bristol Palin Responds to Kathy Griffin's 'Fat' Attack
By Hollie McKay

Published December 06, 2010 | FoxNews.com

Kathy Griffin hosted the VH1 Divas salute to the troops this weekend, but her “jokes” about Bristol Palin being “fat” fell flat.

"She's the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight," Griffin said in reference to Bristol's trip to the finals on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Even after the troops' loud booing, Griffin continued the attack.

"No, come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week, I swear to God, it was fantastic,” Griffin said. “She's like the white Precious."

(Actress Gabourey Sidibe played the role of “Precious,” a 350-pound black woman in the hit Lee Daniels film which was released last year.)

But Palin, 20, isn’t letting 50-year-old Griffin’s digs bring her down.

“The audience's reaction to this ‘comedian’ spoke volumes, and the decent people I know would probably have booed her, too,” Palin told Pop Tarts in an exclusive statement. “I hope people didn't have to pay money to hear her negativity and criticisms.”

The annual VH1 show, which was taped at San Diego’s Miramar Marine base and presented by the USO, also featured a slew of young performers such as Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Paramore. So could Griffin’s comments be potentially dangerous to the young viewers who tuned in to watch their idols on stage?

“Calling Bristol Palin fat is inappropriate and distasteful, even under the guise of humor,” body image expert and author of “Love Your Body Love Your Life,” Sarah Maria, told Pop Tarts. “The problem is that people, and particularly young people, easily absorb the ideas, beliefs, and attitudes that are presented to them. [It's a problem] when someone makes critical comments about someone else’s body and weight, beliefs such as ‘fat is a horrible thing,’ ‘I am no good unless I am thin.'"

According to PopEater’s Rob Shuter, VH1 producers considered editing out the awkward dialogue and response, recorded Friday night, but given the attention it generated, decided to leave it in Sunday’s television broadcast.

VH1 and a rep for Griffin declined to comment.

And while Griffin strutted in a bikini in what she called her “starvation body,” the comedienne wasn’t always so willing to flaunt her figure.

Just last year, the “Suddenly Susan” star admitted that she fell prey to some serious body image issues while seeking out her “big break” in Hollywood. Not only did Griffin get a nose job at the age of 26 in an attempt to improve her appearance, in addition to liposuction that she claims almost killed her, she also reportedly exercised obsessively, starved herself during the day and binged at night.

Having experienced the pain and pressure of show business first-hand, might one think Griffin would be a little mores sensitive to such issues?

“It is quite surprising, given her own experience," Maria said. "One would hope that her own difficulties would awaken a sensitivity, understanding, and compassion regarding the difficulties of body weight and image in today’s culture."

Bristol Palin gets a morning-show job offer from "Mix 96.9" in Phoenix

The "Dancing with the Stars" contestant has recently bought a five-bedroom house in the Phoenix area and that leads Clear Channel's KMXP to offer her "a salaried on-air position as a co-host on our morning show." The station says it's a "respected brand in the market, not a high-school hijinx-minded radio station" and that she'd only need to work a few hours per weekday, with opportunities for additional talent fees. It even says Mix can be flexible, if Palin needs to work from other cities, and it promises that "we are not looking for a political commentator." Check Mathew Blades' job offer to Bristol Palin here - in what is a no-lose proposition for the radio station.

LOL!

It'll be cute saying TV and Radio star who gives political speeches at age 21 is "off limits" for criticism.

But, d1ckheads will say it, let's be honest.
