rather, how do you think AMERICA would vote?  Don't make this a thread of "what media group wronged who...".  Rather, what would the results of such a matchup be?  In a general election between these two candidates, what would be the outcome?

Your numbers don't quite compute. Obama gets 90% of the black vote? BIG DEAL. Gore and Kerry got that but still LOST to Bush (the black vote is a lock for anyone, including Satan himself, with a "D" next to his/her name).

70% of the Latino vote?  Don't bet on it. His numbers have already DROPPED in the Latino community, as evidenced by the midterm vote. If the economy continues to tank, that demographic will shrink further. Again, look at Bush. He got 40% of the Latino vote in 2004. If Palin can get around 30-40%, she's in business.

White voters? PLEASE!! They have bailed on him in droves (especially women). The key is the independents. If they keep going GOP, Obama is DOOMED.

Except for black people (and the supremely far-goofball left), there's no way America (if thing keep getting worse) is going to keep Obama in the White House, just for the pure sake of keeping Palin out, should she decide to run and is the GOP winner.

Too early to tell. If the economy still blows in 2012 then I'd suspect the Repubs could run a paraplegic chimpanzee and win. Why would they risk it, though, when they could run a solid candidate and probably destroy Obama in the election.

If the presidential election will be about Obama failing in helping USA recover economically, then Palin can win. But that of course depends on that economic scenario. Unemployment has to stay high, poverty et al.

Funny thing though - I saw that Obama got high marks in Gallup poll on his foreign policy.

So if foreign policy becomes an issue in the president debate, then Palin will have a very tough time with Obama.

Although I think she handled herself in the VP debate very well against a seasoned veteran like VP Joe "Fuck" Biden.

If the economy DOES NOT improve, white people and a significant numbers of Latinos will show Obama the door. You keep forgetting that Latinos ain't like black people. They're not just going to monolithically vote Democrat (Again, Bush got 40% of Latino votes in 2004).

White people fear UNEMPLOYMENT a lot more than they fear Palin. They will not hesitate to chuck him out, just for the sake of keeping Palin from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. A bad economy (say 9% unemployment or worse) means OBAMA IS AS GOOD AS GONE in 2012.

To early to tell, yes, I agree, no one can really predict this at this stage.

As for the economy improving, I'm not sure how anyone can say we're even slightly improving as of now, at this stage the best spin you can put on it is it's stagnant. Then you have the EU economy collapsing more and more every day, you have a U.S. government continuing to follow some of the same protocol as the EU and people see this and they don't like it and for good reason.

People can laugh at this all they want, I truly believe we're in for far worse economically speaking than we have been so far...the worst is yet to come and if that is the case and only time will tell, Obama and the rest of the democratic party won't stand a chance and hopefully the GOP members who have been a part of it won't either.
