this has got to be the stupidest shit ive ever heard...america's bid to host the 2022 World Cup was beaten out by a tiny muslim nation the size of fucking rhode island.

- women cannot wear revealing dress
- average summer temp is 115 degrees. ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN DEGREES
- you cannot drink alcohol

sounds like the perfect venue for the worlds biggest sporting event  ::)

Why should we get it when the only time we remotely pay attention is during the World Cup...We're not even real fans overall...Give it to a country that cares...Until we make an effort to actually care about soccer and have decent fan bases, sponsors, network tv coverage etc...we don't deserve it..

i dont really care about america not getting it...but choosing a tiny, strictly islamic desert country to host the world cup is as stupid as it gets

the world cup is known for an enormous international party atmosphere, with lots of beer, womens' tits and asses hanging out, and lots of time outside. thus it makes perfect sense to hold this event in a place where you cant drink, women must be covered and kept at home, and its 115 degrees outside.

OIL $$$ buys everrrrything....... should be a shitty world cup, by that time I would actually be looking into flying places for the next World Cup...sort of a bucketlist if I may...but Qatar is a no go...and Russia im kinda ehhhh about too.

Soccer is world's dominating sport. It is followed and played everywhere; Europe, South-America, Africa, Australia... you name it.

Only in America soccer is not huge! On the other hand their sports are mainly followed only in America; American football - only in America it's mainstream, basketball - big only in America, baseball - LOL whut is that, bodybuilding - big only in America...

Can you believe it! Even Formula 1 ain't big in America!!! What is wrong in that country?

Qatar cares? Their national team is ranked like 110th in the world and the only people who actually play the sport there are a bunch of brazilians that they went out and bought.
