I know you are trolling, but this is supposed to be a back to basics M model...even though it was greenlighted very late, and they had about 2 yrs to develop it...it has the M3's suspension and LSD, a reworked TT Inline 6, from the Z4 35is (people think)...so handling is gonna be the priority, and it does 8:12 on the 'Ring, whereas the E46 M3 does 8:22...

the front incorporates Air Curtian technology, which is that vertical slit, which iwhat you'll be seeing in upcoming m models...

this model is a precedent for M Diviion, as it is the first M car for the 1 series family, and it is supposed to be (marketed as) the spiritual successfor for the E30 M3, a car that championed handling over hp....

Smart move for BMW to market it as a modern E30 M3 (500lbs heavier though more powerful). Its price tag is very close to the E90/E92 M3 though.
As least they didn't name it M1.

Yeah, unfortunately there are idiots on the 1addicts site who call it that...these are the non-enthusiasts...the ones who want a 'sunroof", or worried if the car has split seats so they can put their bike in, or if they can put a tow hook  to tow a trailer on it...

They may put M-DCT in it, but that would put it too close to the M3 in terms of performance

Yeah, but if the reports are right, the US only gets 1,000, then there are going to be dealer markups like crazy...but, once BMW gets the tooling up, then there might be more, Abe then their is the longevity of the N54 engine and if there are any HPFP problems...

The head of BMW M Division is Dr. Kay Segler, I think he was head of Mini Marketing, so you know where he is coming from. M Division's new path is low revving Twin Turbo engines...

Possibly after the hype dies down, because only 1000 are coming to the US, so that means a secondhand one...of this platform, the F30 1M will be produced in larger numbers, but will get a turbo 4 cylinder.
