he won't use the word compromise but did reach "common ground"  with the white house about the tax cuts, unemployment insurance, and all of the other "pork" in this bill.
How much more does that add to the national deficit again?
Politics, everything old is new again.

One good thing about Boehner, he does a great job of keeping his family out of the spotlight.

it would be illogical for Boehner to say "I refuse to do anything good for the country until obama caves in on EVERYTHING".

cause that won't happen.  All he will do is create gridlock.  Which, while you cheerlead it, assures it's 96 all over again for Obama's re-election.

The smartest thing boehner could do?  Wear a t-shirt with the word COMPROMISE on it.  Be visible as a positive force for change in america - not a sleepy, semi-buzzed grouch who won't help america one bit if he can't get his way on everything.

that is certainly how the right is portraying it but another interpretation is that the voters wanted checks and balance and thought one party had too much power

I like most of palin's positions - when she's not changing them.  I'm against amnesty, but sure not cool with "letting all the illegals stay if they sign a paper".

Personally, I don't think she's capable of being president.  My dog is quite conservative, but he's not equipped to be president either.  Aside from the Qs on her inelligence - she has demonstrated her emotional responses to issues are potentially dangerous.  Irrational and inconsistent.  "R-word wrong for Rahm, but okay for Rush, as he's satire.. but South park, a satire show?  that's wrong too".

I like her stance on most issues, when she's not supporting capping emissions (as she has), letting illegals stay (which she supports), etc.
