After the ending of season 4 I had a hard time imagining they would be able to pull of a good season 5. But man was I wrong. Turned out to be awesome and a season 6 is also announced a few days ago. Cant wait

This season suffered from completely lazy writing and was one of the weakest of the series.  It was going so badly the producers had to "shift gears" mid-season and develop a arch-villain.

I guess they didnt end it with a crazt cliffhanger because they didnt know if they got to do another season or not (?) because deb knowing what dex is would have been great

One thing I really disliked was that they created this whole aura of "untouchability" around Jordan Chase, then it turns out his big threat was that he would ditch all his security, bring Lumen to a remote spot, and have hope Dexter would crash his car or something.

It would have been better had Dexter gutted Lumen when she decided to leave.

there was a few things that bugged be *spoiler*
when dex and lumin killed that dude and his sister and the bf arrived at the scene when jordan tried and set them up (he called deb Right when dex and lumin entered the house), and then they were all of a  sudden gone, and had left before they arrived, even though they would have been there within minutes and they ALL of a sudden decided to do it in the house next to the Actual house evebn after deciding on a room? or did I miss something? and then deb found lumins prints to the house next door but as I mentioned they had left already...

And I guess jordan Moved out the tractor hence how the focus was on it when they drove by it so he would crash either way? I think it was a nice touch to bring her back to where it all began. But how did dex manage to have that knife on him lol. I thought deb would arrive and save the day or something.

I agree this season was a bit sketchy but lets not forget the writer "Dexter" was being treated for cancer, for them to pull off what they did was pretty good....I expect season 6 to be another nail biter and probably the series finally!

I think it was average, at best. Nothing compared to 1 and 4.

I think the only viable storyline left is Deb inevitably catching Dexter and all the associated stuff that happens as a result.

thats why I thought if they Knew season 6 was in the bag when the wrote the last episode deb would have catched him... well not have let them go rather

Shitty ending having Lumen walk out when previously she'd picked Dexter over near certain death.It was better than season 3 but worse than seasons 1,2 an 4, with season 2 being the best so far.

It was a excellent season (on its own) but "weak" compared to season 1 and 2 I suppose

You really think so?  They can't keep recycling that storyline if they want the series to stay good.  It already got repetitive with Quinn/Doakes and Lumen as a watered down Jimmy Smitts.

I hope they wrap it up next year.  That's what made series like BSG so good - they didn't do extra seasons that they didn't need/want to.

whether season 6 is a "Big Bad" season is up in the air because one could make a argument that "Jordan Chase" was a "Big Bad".  and if so then why would the writers do another "Big Bad" season.  at this point, it really is too soon to tell

see, i'm being selfish so I want the show to go on more seasons

...HOWEVER, I'd rather the show end while it is still on top rather "jump the shark".  I can't have it both ways

in the end, i'm more than willing to bet that no one within the core group (the other cops) won't find out

it is the kinda show that you can only do a couple of seasons with.......because the sotrylines are so full of coincidences and so unbelievable...........t hat it just gets ridiculous after a while
