New Russian missile to outwit any defense systems built before 2050

The country is developing a new inter-continental ballistic missile capable of defeating not only any existing defense shields but also those created in the next 40 years.

The rocket is to replace Russia’s Voevoda missile, considered one of the world’s most effective and heaviest pieces.

Created back in the 1970s, Voevoda can carry ten 550-kiloton warheads; its range is 11,000 kilometers.

START-1 stipulated that Russia would have to destroy half of all such rockets. The new strategic arms reduction treaty, however, does not include any clauses forbidding modernization and replacement of old arms.

 Russia will continue to deploy SS-18 Satan heavy intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) as part of the country's nuclear arsenal until at least 2026, the commander of Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) said Friday.

"The extension of the service life of the systems equipped with RS-20V [SS-18 Satan] missiles will allow us to keep these most powerful missiles in the world until 2026," Lt. Gen. Sergei Karakayev said.

Introduced almost 33 years ago, the missile is routinely tested and has proved to be a very reliable weapon.

"At this point, there are no serious technical restrictions to continue extending the missile's service life," the general said.

The missile is armed with a warhead containing 10 multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles (MIRVs) with a yield of 550 to 750 kilotons each. It has a maximum range of 11,000 km (6,800 miles) with a launch mass of over 210 tons and a payload of 8.8 tons.

According to publicly available sources, Russia currently has 88 SS-18 missile silo launchers, most of them deployed at the Dombarovsky missile base in the Orenburg Region.

This guy is an idiot.....and as far as Georgia goes....we supply and train the Georgian Army with counter terrorism training and associated equipment, not M1 tanks. They did however have a US trained artillery unit, in company strength, outfitted with US fire fighter radar, lasers etc etc. These guy's came in contact with your bullshit armor formations as you came strolling down the main highway early in the invasion and shitcanned almost a regiment of Russian junk before they went black on ammo and had to retreat. Less then 100 guys stopped your invasion for almost 24hrs.  Further if you watch the bombing of Tiblisi by the vaunted Russian airforce, it took them days, not hours,days to hit simple targets like water towers and radio stations. Your fucking military, though big, is a joke. The remains of the soviet military machine are all over Afghanistan...they have junk piles of crap everywhere. You can still go up near the Kuwait/Iraq border and see rusting soviet junk. It took us 100hrs to crush Russian supplied crap, with russian supplied doctrine.
