If this bill were that urgent, why did the Dems, who had a supermajority for 2 years, wait till the last second to try o pass this, and why did nt they imply offset the cost wth cuts somewhere else?

So where was your disgust back then when the Democrats wouldn't move the bill along? With a supermajority back then it wouldn't have been any problem for the Democrats to pass it. The Democrats don't care about the 911 responders. They care about themselves and their party and they chose to move this bill along, AFTER the Reps stated that they would not consider any legislation until the tax bill and government budget was settled.

Anyone that believes that only the Reps are wrong here and that Dems are somehow innocent bystanders with no alterior motive for bringing up this bill now, has their lips firmly attached to the Dems balls.  How do those nuts, taste, blacken?

BECAUSE they wanted to get the tax bill done and the government budget resolved. FIRST. The Reps stated that even BEFORE the Dems attempted to move the 911 first responders bill.

What's the excuse of the Dems to not pass it 2 years ago or even a year ago when they had majority in both houses?  Why try to move it along now? What is the Dems agenda? Answer: To shine a bad light on the Reps and use it as political talking point in 2012.

I heard they are presenting a smaller one likely to pass because they cutgot in some other areas.
