Egg whites costs, Am I just applying too much logic?

Not trying to bash a product over another but there may be some doucherie going on here... how is "pure"  egg white so much "better"?

Both ~6g protein per 1/4 cup (protein = serious business)

Kirkland Real egg "product" (99% pure egg whites)  6x16 oz $10.05 --> $0.10/oz

Eggology, 100% Fresh Egg Whites, 16oz $10.49  --> $0.66/oz

What am I missing??

Ill say this. I got some egg whites from eggwhites international. They freeze them so they last longer when they deliver them so when they though the water and the eggwhites seperate... This ruins the product because when you cook them the water evaporates and the eggs are nasty and rubbery. Secondly the product i had went bad very fast. They made it sound like it was good for over a week but that shit went bad before the end of the week. I had to throw the whole thing out. I was very disatisfied with the product. It was also 10 fold expensive over the store bought branch which tastes better, cooks betters, and actually lasts a week. I will say this though, i used to drink eggwhites in the morning because it was convenient and i had to stop recently because it was causing some major diarrhea throughout the day. I used to be able to drink them and have no problem. When it comes down to it, stick to store bought. This is not a personal attack on chick. I just thought it was a rip off and horrible product. My 2 cents.

Good post brother... I had the same problem from drinking eggology and others in the morning, gassy and bloated all day.... with these, none whatsoever..

And yea I used to get Lana's bucket for 28$ frozen and had the same problem with the rubbery thingies hanging around once defrosted.. I tried splitting the bucket and only freezing in smaller containers but one day I made a mistake of unfreezing the wrong container and drank my own cum for half a day.

Well atleast with the cum you didn't have the gas, shitting, and bloating that you would with Lana's and it tasted the same.

I believe it's still cheaper to buy whole eggs and separate them yourself.

I actually figured this out when i was prepping last year but its cheaper to go with carton eggwhites. I bought the 64 egg pack for 5 dollars i believe. It was taking me 20 eggs to get 2 cups worth or something... i can't even remember. I just know now its cheaper to go to walmart and get the greatvalue cartoned egg whites. It may be different where you are but i live in the chicken state.

Truth. Much cheaper. HOWEVER, you have to use so many eggs to get the same white, that it may be a wash. Never done the math tho.
Not nearly as convient, however, if you ever want to have some yolks, you got em too.
Egg whites are just convenient, but IMO its not worth the extra cost. To each his own I guess.
I tried the egg white from costco for a while, if I was going to do it again, itd be costcos.
The other ones are just overpriced doucherie, as A23 said.

i did the math last year and  it was almost equal but whole eggs were a few cents cheaper. I think 5 dozen costs about 6 or 7 bucks here. It takes about 15 to get two cups.  How is your separation technique? Sometimes people leave quite a bit of white in the shell without realizing it.

THe costco ones are cheap and good.  Problem is they suck drinking them plain.  All the crap they add into them makes them tast like crap if you try to drink them raw.  The 100% Egg whites "even from the store in quarts, they are cheaper than the damn Egg whites international if you buy the max bulk 4 gallon pack" are almost tasteless when you drink them.

Most of the time I actually enjoy separating the eggs. Unless I'm pressed for time. I like cooking  :)

In my case yes, I agree... ... but when served straight from the tap she keeps complaining and spits it out.

What a waste.

"Egg whites contain a glycoprotein called "avidin" which binds biotin - one of the B vitamins - very effectively. The cooking process deactivates the avidin in the egg, much the same way it deactivates every other protein in the egg white.

While it is true that eating too many raw egg whites by themselves will cause you to suffer from a biotin deficiency, the fact is that nature created the egg in such a way that its yolk is very rich in biotin. One of the highest concentration in nature. Eat the egg whole together with the egg white and you will be fine."

Apparently the raw egg gas and bloating is caused by our fearless leader Ron....

You can buy a quart of egg whites at Walmart for $3.38.  You can't separate whole eggs for that price.
