What is so ironic is that if he had not wasted his political capital on healthcare he could have easily gotten the tax package that he wanted. A responsible president and congress would have tackled the tax issue far earlier. Even if they had raised some taxes, atleast we would have had predictability in the system.
Another ironic thing is that some conservative commentators believe that the stimulus might have actually done SOME good if it were not for Obamacare and the Financial Regulations bill.
Either way you slice it this administration is a disaster. People talk about him inheriting a bad situation. But I would argue that he inherited the perfect sitation, both politically and economically. The economy had already fallen far enough when he became president, and he had a massive amouth of political capital to do some tough things that needed to be done. But he blew it.
