Or...have your family make the call. If they don't care about the space or whatever, then it's not a big deal, if they think it's too small, then stick to your guns.
Whatever you decide, don't complain about how things are when it's going down. If it's too cramped, but everyone decided to go, make sure there's a no bitch clause going in... It'll just make things worse.
