In my experience roughly 1 week btw bodyparts is ideal, 2 weeks for maintainance (neither gaining or losing strength) and after 3 weeks decompensation. You are just lost and confused son. Try 1 protocol and stick with it for at least 6 weeks.

Mentzer tried to refine and evolve Arthur Jones' training ideologies.

Mentzer built the majority of his muscle size using volume training, then tried to steal Jones` thunder.

Sorry wes, but Mentzer built the majority of his muscle using drugs.

I meant to say that he built ALL of his muscle by using PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD, and most of it from drugs.

Menter had already gained 95% of his eventual size using drugs and high volume by the time he was a teenager.

Throughout his pro career he only modestly improved on the existing foundation. Of course he would say that  his methods would have gotten him there faster to start out with. But either way, the Menzter brothers were mesomorphic genetic elites well suited for bodybuilding. Take a guy like that, add lots of drugs, put him on any non-retarded training and you will get a thick physique no matter what he does.

Are you sure that he had 95% of his size when he was still a teen? I thought he maxed out a 190 or so as a teen. FYI, his max lean competitive weight was about 220. So, therefore he built 20 some more lean pounds of muscle tissue AFTER his stint with volume training. Also, he said himself that he made his greatest muscular gains using Rest-Pause in 78, when he was in his mid to late 20's

Casey Viator is someone I always thought peaked as a teen. Don't know how much weight he put on later on but he looked best as a teen.

Viator made it to around 220 as a teen, under Arthur Jones, and yeah he was a fvcking teen beast 8) When he went back to volume training he lost size, and got softer.

Hmm.. I think he looks about the same size as later, just not as lean.  Of course one could argue that the last 10 lbs of pro muscle is by far the hardest to get. As for exact weights - who knows. They all lie/exaggerate about height, weight, and lifts. I was just going based off of appearances.

As for what gave him the best results.. again he was so convinced with his philosophy that I don't trust him to be accurate.

looks about the same to me in terms of basic foundation mass.

Cool shot, I've never seen a picture of a young Mentzer...
