Buffet is also old as shit, and investing in BYD a Chinese battery company that makes electric vehicles that are for lack of better word, shitty.....

He knows how to make money, but dudes like him like the old big cars, that's why he drives a Cadillac DTS (FWD) and before that a Lincoln Town Car, which both ride like boats, and which people of Buffet's generation love. Coincidently those types of vehicles are what killed Cadillac and Lincoln---they had the perception  of land yachts. And if you have ever driven one (My mom had a 87 Town Car, a 78 T-bird and a LTD prior), you'd know what i'm talking about...

Buffett knows how to make money, but he's no Jay Leno when it comes to cars.

You totally completely missed my point. Doesn't matter WHAT kind of car you drive or if its Ferrai A vs Ferrai B or Lamborghini this or Bentley that... taste in cars has nothing to do with who is a real alpha male in society unlike what NarcissisticDeity posted.

He was probably just making a throw away comment - but it's a point worth clarifying. Getting into a debate  over which super car is more  "alpha male" is like 10 year-olds arguing if Superman  could beat the Hulk in a fight.

What car you drive has nothing to do with being an alpha male, and the success of the sports team you happen to support has no bearing on your worthiness or achievements as a human being.

Stop concerning yourself with or who is a alpha male in society...It reaks of insecurity..."he's a real alpha male!", "this is a example of a alpha male" . It seems in this society, that many fathers haven't done their duty in presenting an example of being a alpha male or just a man to their kids.

You know, I drove a piece of shit 87 Ford Taurus, and now I don't, i still have the same values that were instilled in me by my parents---and a man is is determined by his car, nor his wealth...but by how he treats people and his character. Character is who are, your rep is who people say you are...You walk your own path...Buffett is a rich man that one can learn from, but you don't anything about what goes on in his life, he could have ED for all you know. But let's stop giving Comicbook Status-Arm And Hammer Status to people...

LOL again you seriously fucking missed the point I was responding to - that's quite an ability you have there.  I wasn't the one who brought up the alpha-male nonsense in the first place, but I see it posted on this board so many fucking times by the likes of Alex23 and others who think like 15 year olds. Christ almighty does your English comprehension suck.  You sure you aren't a gimmick of Okami?

Yes, I know you were responding to ND's post, but then you went on to give resons as to why they are alpha males---yet you call the Arab losers---yet who uses their oil? Is the same oil that Buffett and Soros the oil that comes from Arabs...and Soros is niether a puppet master of the world...you don't see the real puppet masters

The reason why Ferrari or any high price brand exists, is because their are rich folk who can afford them...no rich people to pay for cars like them, no Ferrari or Bentley....

I do agree with you on certain points...I was only taking issue with your point of calling those two alpha males...because in reality...to argue on who is or isn't a alpha, would be the argument a beta would be having.... ;) So, i will stop....

Nope, the Ferrari is the better car, and has a way better interior...you know where your Money is going...when you buy a Ferrari, you are buying the mystique, you are buying a piece of history. You are buying a car from a Formula 1 Champion. You are buying a car that is part of the Enzo Ferrari formula
which was sell cars so that they could race. Ferrari has a more storied race history than GM. GM has no formula 1 championships. No outright Le Mans wins, Ferrari does. You can't buy 60 yrs of race history, for what, 60 yrs?

And that is why, that F430 will cost more at the auction block than that Z06 pictured...

But that is a sick Z06, too bad the interior sucks and smells like glue, not like Italian leather.

Define ' better ' as far as performance for the dollars it's not better. The interior I'll give you hands down that's also what you're paying for , but in all terms the Z06 is a ' better ' car. It offers 99% of the performance of the Ferrari for much less money and it's more practical , it literally can be driven all day every day with dead-pan reliability , it's cheaper to insure , maintain and run

Ferrari's reliability is suspect , I remember Britney Spears F-430 just died on the road and the pappazzi had to push her to the side of the road , the new 458's recalled because they just burst into flames , I also recall Car & Driver doing a review of the new ( at that time ) Diablo & F-40 and chalked up a list of things that went wrong with both , from electrical problems ( which a lot of Italian cars seem to have issues with ) to pieces falling off , to there were a host of problems with the Diablo and they said they were less problems with the F-40 only because there were less parts to fall off

The old Ferrari's the 308/328 were horrible in terms of quality control , the old running joke was ' Yeah my Ferraris' fast but it's in the shop ' the old 308s were littered with problems , dashboards coming apart , rust , shitty paint , Ferrar;s paint sucked until they started using PPG , I remember a site called the NSXfiles these guys if I recall right had stock in Mircosoft and they bought F360s and they went into detail with the host of problems they had with them , switches falling off , windows not working , etc , etc , etc the type of stuff that wouldn't be acceptable on a $20k car never mind one that cost $250 !

They loved their Ferrari's none the less , likened them to supermodels with serious mental issues , great to look at but a fucking nightmare to deal with , ironically this also can be applied to pasta-rockets , Ducati has these issues as well , outstanding performers but no where near the reliability of the Japanese bikes

And someone touched on this subject with Lambos , right around the time a major service 15-30K you see a lot of them for sale ever wonder why? same with Ferrari , ever see a Ferrari with 100K miles on it? It's extremely rare to find one with over 50 nevermind twice that , I see Vettes and Z06's with 100K on them all day long , so in terms of being better , the Ferrari may be slightly better than a Z06 in on a track and on Rodeo Drive but in reality the Vette in a better car overall

And Chevy has a long racing heritage it might not include F1 but it has a long history in racing since the 50s , in NASCAR , drag racing , CAN-AM , Le Mans , etc , Ferraris whole image was the race car for the streets and funny is as you mentioned Enzo never gave a shit about the road cars used them as a tool to fund the racing , and the company only did exceptionally well as far as the road cars after his death under Luca , he took that company into the 20th century and beyond

With all that being said I would buy a Ferrari in a minute if as Ferris Bueller said " if you have the means " I love the styling and the sound and the heritage.

Yeah the zeitgeist of the word ' alpha male ' is apparently changing to whoever has the most expensive car , and who has the biggest earrings , watch , rims ,  to who is banged the most hos . financial success is apparently ruler in which alpha maleness is measured by

Brittney's Spear's F430=it's brittney's, who knows what was wrong with it or what she did to it...forgot to put gas in it, or the wrong gas...yeah, the 308 and everything were bad, but Luca had declared that by the 360, that Ferraris would have to be more reliable---because the NSX showed how it was done (compared to the 348)..

GM has a great racing history, especially in Can Am, with the Chapparels, but Porsche was the big news there with their 917,

You are correct Ferrari didn't care about road cars, but he had to fund his racing some how, which why it is widely known that Ferrari is known as a racing outfit that sold cars to fund it's racing program....and one of the major reasons why Ford wanted to buy Ferrari, even visiting the factory. Enzo wanted to keep the racing, and let Ford have the production car side---when Henry Ford said "No", Enzo said , "fuck you..." It cause a lot of noise in the Italian press, resulting in Fiat buying Ferrari and keeping it Italian...

But, i own neither a Ferrari 430 or a Z06, if you gave me either I would be a happy man, if you gave me both...i'd be happier still.
