We stayed in Riviera Maya but occasionally trekked out to Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The above pictures were taken in Cancun.
I was surprised at how many local girls (and guys) were at Coco Bongo because with the $60/admission converted to Pesos I imagine only wealthier locals go out there, but I'd say the place still had over 50% locals. They let it get VERY packed (much more than places in Canada or US) so there isn't even much room to move around to meet others. I'm committed
but a few of my friends had fun with girls there, they generally found the tourists to be more approachable than the locals, but that might be because the locals thought we (brown tourists) were Mexicans as well lol. Also I'd agree that North American girls value physique more as I found I get more looks at home than in Mexico.
