Was just thinking today, does anybody know when it was invented?

I don't remember ever seeing video or pictures of it being used during Arnold, Franco, etc. era

It was invented in Sydney, Australia in 1972 by Vincent Basile.

The thought just came to my mind

I know I've seen pictures of Arnold using the vertical leg press, but I've never seen any pictures from that era of the modern 45 degree press

Not sure exactely when it was invented but I do know that every gym didn't have one. I didn't start using one until about 1980-81.
