Arkansas officials stumped as birds fall from sky

State wildlife officials were going door-to-door on Sunday in the town of Beebe, Arkansas, to collect dead birds after thousands of mostly blackbirds mysteriously fell from the sky.

Workers were searching Beebe, a town of about 4,500 people located 30 miles northeast of the state capital, to collect what officials estimated as between 4,000 and 5,000 birds which began falling from the sky late on New Year's Eve and continued into the next day.

"It could be weather-related or possibly stress-related," said Keith Stephens, a spokesman for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. "There were some fireworks shot off at midnight and it is possible that the birds were on their roost and stressed so bad that it could have killed them."

The birds were still being collected from rooftops, trees and yards and will be sent on January 3 to testing facilities in Little Rock and Madison, Wisconsin.

Stephens said hail or lightning in recent days also could have injured the birds but he had seen no physical signs of injuries in the birds so far collected.

High winds and tornadoes struck Arkansas on New Year's Eve, with the hardest hit area more than 150 miles to the west of Beebe.

Pretty fucked up for 5,000 birds to fall from the sky in one area.

The explanation for all of this may stem form the drilling for NATURAL GAS. I posted a thread called HYDRAULIC FRACTURING and in it there is a video called GASLAND that someone produced showing the effects of this NATURAL GAS being released from the ground. It has poisoned the water and land in many of the states in america resulting in massive amounts of dead cattle, horses, poultry, people losing their hair, eyesight, hearing, taste, liver and brain lesions and a host of medical complications. There is a talk of a loss of wildlife as well as birds who fly through the released methane dying while in flight. What these reporters and the EPA maybe trying to do is avert more lawsuits than they are already encountering. Many land owners agreed to lease parts of their land for companies like EXXON to drill...what they were not told was that one the drilling starts the land would be rendered USELESS and anything on the land would sooon die.

I had a picture of a map showing the states and the thousands of drilling operations going on presently for natural gas. I will look for it and post it so all can see. The mining is in just about every state so everyone and everything will soon be effected.

Great website with lots of information on the hazards of NATURAL GAS drilling to people and animals.

http://gaslandthemovie.com/

When you get to the website look on the left side of the page, you will see a couple of links that take you to MAPS, WATERWAYS and STORIES click on MAPS to see the vast area of drilling

Thesea re the pics, but they are reduced now. When I first saw them they were very large, but you can see how these gas drilling fields are all over america and extend into Canada adn even skirt Mexico...and this drilling is only in the beginning stages...there will not be a single state without many drilling rigs in it.

Oh please! Give me a break!!! When birds start falling out of the sky on the 4th of July then perhaps you can come with that lame theory. We don't see birds dropping from the sky on Canada Day, Victoria Day or Divali so why now?
