I wish Pillman was healthy mentally and physically at the time. Him and Austin could have amazing matches, the promos alone would have made it a classic. I may be in the minority, but I loved the whole Pillman gun angle.
Pillman was fantastic.
I’m sorry I’d fallen away from following the show(s) around the time leading up to his breakout performance of “the loose cannon” gimmick.
That was definitely some of his best mic, promo, and character work, although - after the Humvee accident - his ring work would probably never have been the same again.
I always dug Pillman’s later look, too; with the black boots, jeans, and leather vest over the t-shirt.
And the shades…who could forget these:



I’ve always wanted a pair of those damn flip-ups, but, as I am not Pillman the Magnificent, and he was the only one who could effectively pull it off…
