UFC HW division turmoil
« on: January 06, 2011, 06:57:34 AM »
So what's gonna happen now that Cain is out?

My thoughts are JDS and Lesnar should fight for the interrim belt.  Winner taking on Cain when he is ready.   Then, the undisputed HW champ fights the winner of Carwin/Country.

Thoughts?

Giving Lesnar a title shot would be an embarassment. Have JDS beat up on Frank Mir or some other can until Cain gets healthy.

It's funny how fortunes have turned lately. Lesnar is going back to the WWE. Cain is out. JDS has nobody to fight and Carwin is still injured.

The UFC HW division is in complete shambles and SF is having a grand prix with Fedor, Overeem, Barnett and Werdum.

I see not much has changes with you, still spewing rumors huh?

This is per Dana as of yesterday on Sherdog:

After Lesnar had his heavyweight crown taken by Velasquez in a brutal October drubbing, rumors swirled that the former NCAA Division I wrestling champion was looking to retire from MMA and possibly return to pro-wrestling.

“None of that was true,” White said. “Obviously, I was in communication with Brock and his team, and talking to them the whole time... There was no wheeling and dealing about the WWE. I think everybody knows how I feel about that. He’s under contract with me.”

YAWN...

I see the January HW rankings are out. 5 of the top 10 in SF. You must be clawing your eyeballs out of your head.

Good for Strikeforce...Maybe they can groom a couple of HW's for the big leagues.  Overeem would be a good addition to the UFC and I doubt Overeem is hiding behind phony management like Fedor was.  Overeem is not afraid.

Suffered a torn rotator cuff during the Brock Lesnar fight, and had to have surgery just recently, will be sidelined 8 to 12 months.
