congresswoman/judge shot in Arizona
« on: January 08, 2011, 08:35:33 PM »
Does this mean that public officials should be given more protection than the public they represent?

Do media personalities need to curb the hatefull and sometimes untrue rhetoric?

The first, I say no.

The second, I say yes.

I learned all I needed to know in Kindergarten.

Considering this guy seems like a communist/anarchist freek I don't see how we pin this on anyone but the shooter himself.

there should always be freedom of speech, the ppl that commit these acts are often like im sure this animal will be shown to be somewhat mentally deficient.

I agree that those in the political realm especially elected officials should refrain from rhetoric that could incite violence but in the end crazy ppl do crazy shit...

besides being mentally ill he ranted about not being able to trust the government, loss of property rights and the current "treasonous" laws of the government

does any of that sound familiar?

like you said this dude was whacked and this isnt the focus of the moment to be honest, it kinda pisses me off that there isnt more emphasis on the 9 YEAR OLD GIRL WHO GOT SHOT but thats neither here nor there

but it the info coming out on him is correct its pretty obvious he was a far left leaning individual, again not that it matters this dude was whacked

EARLY REPORTS SAY ARIZONA ASSASSIN WAS LEFTIST AND DRUG USER

•Old Schoolmate of Shooter Claims He was a Liberal Druggie (Twitter)
Here are some tweets from someone who allegedly knew the shooter.

Caitie Parker @catieparker

Saying Jared Laughner was the gunman. Really hoping that's not the same guy I went to HS with, really good friend. Freaking out right now!!!

Catie Parker
Official I went to high school & college, & was in a band w/ the gunman. I can't even fathom this right now.

Catie Parker
He was a poticial radical & met Giffords once before on '07, asked her a question & he told me she was "stupid & unintelligent"

Catie Parker
He was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix, The DOors, Anti-Flag. I haven't seen him in person since '07 in a sign language class

Catie Parker
As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy.

Catie Parker
he had a lot of friends until he got alcohol poisoning in '06, & dropped out of school. Mainly loner very philosophical.

Catie Parker
more left. I haven't seen him since '07 though. He became very reclusive.

Catie Parker
it's loughner just checked my year book.

Catie Parker
This is a circus. Good Morning America just called me.

•MOTIVE: CONGRESSWOMAN VOTED AGAINST NANCY PELOSI.
SHOOTER SAID_

(This page has been scrubbed but here is the cache) My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me! by BoyBlue Thu Jan 06, 2011 at 11:07:17 AM PST I am from the Tucson area and live in Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords' district. I worked like a dog for her elections when she was in the Arizona House, surrounded by rightwing nutcases. When Arizona re-districted in 2002, a seat opened up and she was right smack in the middle of it. So was I because I live in Oro Valley, Arizona, which is at the heart of that..."

some tweets from someone who claims to have known him a few years ago don't tell us much of anything about what was going through his head in the last couple of months

far lefties don't rant about the things I mentioned.

I think this guys problem was mental illness and not political ideology

he's seems to rant the most about "grammar"

wtf is that all about?

he also wrote about not wanting to pay his debts with a currency that's not backed by gold or silver.

None of those things are common to "far lefties" but more like "far righties" and I'm not saying he is one of those either.

If you read his posts the common denominator is that they make no sense

He's a nutjob

For all we know he targeted Giffords for no other reason than he had easy access to her.

The best thing anyone can do now is not jump to conclusions about anything

I wish everyone would stop with the absolute need to label this guy.  It's clear as fuck that the guy is fucked mentally.  I mean once it's clear that someone is this insane, what is the point in connecting him to the left or right?  He sees the world in a context that nobody on the left or right can even connect to or understand.  he's so sick, his ideas and views as stated are alien to all of us.  There is absolutely no point in pining this level of sick to any political ideology and I find it disturbing that people are still trying to do so even after it's become clear how insane this guy is.

My biggest worry at this point is that he's going to get off on his insanity and spend the rest of his life in a cozy mental ward.  It makes me sick as hell that he killed a 9 year old girl and others.  I don't give a rats ass if he's sick, I'd like to see him fry.

It was totally stupid for the left to try and stick this on the tea party before we even knew the full story.  It's just as stupid for the right to be pinning this on the left after finding out just how completely insane this guy is.  It wasn't left ideologies that enabled him.  It wasn't rightwing ideologies that enabled him.  The simple fact that is clear upon reading his statements is that he is extremely insane and it wasn't left or right that made him insane.  This dude is fucked in the head.  No matter what his path in life, his crosswired insanity would still be there and be a problem and or danger.

Bro i agree he seems whacked but as someone who has studied psychology its not that easy man this dude could be totally sane to be honest.

I agree this guy should be put down like the cancer he is

and do a search of this dude bro, its obvious that the left is trying very very hard to pin him as a right wing nut job....like ive said multiple time none of it matters b/c he seems psycho but if all that has come out is true he is a liberal...

its important b/c there are ppl out there that will try to pin this on palin, beck, oreilly etc...and it needs to be shown this isnt true...

I honestly dont get the mentally insane plea the death penalty is more than just punishment its also about retribution for the victim and their families and whether the guy is mentally insane or not doesnt change the need or desire for retribution...
