Great so the Brahmins are a bunch of intolerant descendants of Puritans---basically hypocrisy witha WASP covering...who gives a damn where your parents went to school, or what your parents did? It's not where you are from it's where you are at. It's a damn co-op. Funny how his descendants couldn't hack it in England so they had to leave...now, you have some obscure family trying to hold onto glory past, not taking a look at the merit of the man, but who his folks and grandfolks were....epic hypocrisy of what the Good Book says...

Also, I doubt that the "new" elite are Asian, Indian Asian, etc---it's the same ol', same ol'...those people are just fronts---like the black folk in a Korean store, that sells hip hop gear.

Great so the Brahmins are a bunch of intolerant descendants of Puritans---basically hypocrisy witha WASP covering..

They are hardly intolerant. They freed blacks from slavery and gave women the right to vote. They are just very serious and reserved people and that rubs it of on others as arrogance. Even though they are all millionaires, they dress in simple conservative clothes, live in normal sized houses and their only luxury is having a resort for the weekends. Compare this to the new rich who usually buy tons of cars, dress in expensive brand clothes, etcetera. It's just that they score very low in emotionality.

Wrong. It matters because if you came from a proletarian background, your manners and interest will be different from those of the elite. Simple. If you were poor and became rich, it means you are smart and industrious and those are virtues, but you are still a prole in manners and attitude and they simply don't want to hang with you. They have the right to. The Constitution garantees right of association. They put that there.

They left for religious reasons, not because they were losers who couldn't make it in England. They were actually better educated than most Englishmen at the time.

They are not protecting anything. They avoid the newspapers and hate attention. They also have no problems getting into Harvard and Yale even though they no longer have quotas protecting them from competition. They are highly intelligent and capable. They are, in fact, the only whites in America who can compete with Asians and Jews in terms of achievement.

The new elite is composed of people from all races. The New York Times was just recently purchased by a Mexican guy of Lebanese extraction. In the 1940s, you couldn't make it in the federal government, on prestigious law firms or
Wall Street without having ties to elite WASP families from New York, Boston, Philadelfia. Today, it's pure merit. But the Brahmins are stiill the elite of the elite, the most prestigious and powerful group by far.

His ancestors were brought as identured servants of the Brahmins. In old England, people with Down's Syndrome were turned by the king into identured servants of nobles, since they couldn't survive on their own.

Parker, no need to quote Eric B. and Rakim up in this thread.

And Parker, where I went to college, the neighboring areas were filled with the Philadelphia "Brahmin".  Many of whom did not have the wealth that the prior generations had, because it had been spread so far, for so long.  But guess who was playing tennis at Philadelphia Cricket Club?  They were.

The elite of the elite. For 350 years, from Plymouth Rock to the 1960s, the elite Brahmin WASP families of Boston, New York and Philadelphia controlled American Society and the federal government as well as their natives states. They dictated policy, established laws and had ultimate say on all moral and judicial decisions made. Most American presidents up to the 1960s came from a couple dozen elite families from New England, or had family ties to them. They wanted immigration restriction from southern Europe in the early twentieth century and they got it. They wanted teetotalism and abstinence, and they got it. They wanted the Vietnam war and they got it.

The decline of the WASP elite started in the 1960s. With the Vietnam disaster, the minority riots, the increased leftism of academia and the success of post-modernism, and the increased prominence of Jews and other ethnic groups in academia and in terms of affluence, the old WASP establishment gave up and allowed other groups that were successful economically to take over leadership positions in the business, academic and political world. The new American elite is composed of an amalgamation of Jews, Asians, Asian Indians wiith a few nouvelle riche whites like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates thrown in. Many members of the new elite look back with envy, resentment but also a grudging admiration and awe at the old WASP elite. There is a good scene in the film, "The Good Sheppard" which exposes this feeling. The character played by Joe Pesci has this exchange with Brahmin WASP, Edward Wilson:

Pesci: "The Jews have their religion. Italians have theiir families. The Irish have their country. Negroes have their music. What do you guys have?"

Edward Wilson:"We have the Unites States of America. The rest of you are just visiting."

Here two Boston Brahmin talk in their dialect. They both graduated from Harvard and have their peculiar way of talking and dressing. They are the last of their lines. In 10 years, they will be all gone.

Hmmm.  A Boston Brahmin fanboi.  How curious.

Love them or hate them, they did built the U.S.A from scratch and turned it into the World's foremost economic, scientific and military power. They also founded all the Ivy League universities, which are the greatest centers of knowledge and advanced scientific research in the World. And even though some of them are worthless individuals who live of their family's name and fortune, they are still on average far superior to the average man since they still represent 25% of all Ivy League students even though they no longer have quotas to protect them and even though they make up 0.0003% of the U.S population. They are also admirable for their tolerance and enlightened spirit. They freed blacks from slavery, gave women the right to vote and lots of them died in war serving on the front as officers.

And I don't think they are superior per se. That is a misrepresentation. To me, an Einstein or a Darwin with no family name is vastly superior to all of them combined. I just find that, as a class, they are very admirable given their intelligence, ethics and gravitas. They led the society by example, and they were a lot better than the current hedonistic, diletantic elite that we have now.

Actually, Jews are 40% of the Fortune's 500, 40% of Ivy League students and 50% of all partners in prestigious law firms. Jews are on average more intelligent. However, the Brahmins are far superior to Jews on per capita income because Jews are millions and the Brahmins are a few tens of thousands.

Ah, life is so sweet for a Brahmin WASP. Jonathan Winthrop was already a handsome 6'3 multi-millionaire before he married the beautiful heirs to the Dodge fortune. I wonder what is his Getbig handle?
