Will someone's weight on the day of the contest (or the day before) influence what you think of his physique or will it matter?

I'd actually like to see weigh ins, even if it was done immediately after the event.

I don't think it would matter in the slightest in respect of their placing but it would be good for the armchair fan as it would help them relate to the "athletes" a bit more. Just a few extra facts and figures to add to the occasion I think would be harmless.

Of course it would Ron, Why do you think they lie about their heights and weights? Because they know it will influence certain people.

I think it would be pretty interesting also.  What about taking measurements?  Would like to know if their 22 inch bicep claims are factual.  Remember those old contests that they used to check a contestants teeth? lol

STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point - bicep, thigh, and especially waist measurements would be interesting to see.

Actually...you probably wouldn't as Lonnie thought the same thing and started doing a weigh in at the Ironman Pro a few years back...almost all the weights  were within a lb. or two of the athletes estimate

I think it's something that would make the press conference worth attending. No offense to Bob or the athletes but it's the same thing every year with little to no excitement. The fans react when a guy gives a preview. Gustavo, Freeman and Marcus had no problem showing anything but you never see Jay, Dex, etc.

I know the competitors don't want to weigh in because their bodies change dramatically from hour to hour. Most would be flat and look nothing like what they will the following day, while others would look great at weigh-in and not so good at the show. Which is exactly why there SHOULD be a weigh-in where all weigh in their posing suits. Look at how many fans attend to see UFC fighters step on the scale. THOUSANDS.

It would certainly draw bigger crowds and more interest from fans however I don't see the competitors ever wanting to do it.

As the 202's have shown us, a weigh-in is misrepresentative of the actual weight on stage.  A better idea is to follow the press conference with some bodybuilding.  How about 202 pre-judging right there in the Orleans Showroom after the press conference?  Much better venue than the expo hall.

The athletes were fully clothed. That's anywhere from 3-8lbs depending on what they're wearing. Nevermind carrying something in their pockets.

Really???
What about Dexter Jackson that claim to be 235 on stage!
I am sure that he would weight no more than 210 at 5'6' height since Arnold was 235 at 1975 Olympia at almost 6'2' height. ;)
