WRONG.  completely unrealistic not to continue to aggressively develop existing assets regardless of other efforts to further alternative energy.  it's not one or the other.  democrats stop responsible energy procurement at every turn and use the false flag of caring for the planet as a means to excuse poor energy policy.

Moving along, can anyone explain the following contradiction inherent with the Dem's anti big business stance on numerous issues? They bitch about big business and the little guy having his job outsourced yet the following has transpired as of late ( and there are 2000000 other examples);

1) Obamacare is supposed to provide healthcare to all Americans; especially those who can't afford it or have preexisting conditions-- however, it undoubtedly harms small businesses and discourages job growth. Solution? Obama issues several hundred exemptions for big corporations and public sector unions, but none for small businesses.

2)The Dems favor all of these protectionist measures that discourage international trade; allegedly these policies will prevent outsourcing and swell domestic job growth. However, without skipping a beat, the dems favor amnesty for 30 million plus illegal immigrants; at least 20 million of which have taken jobs from Americans after crossing the border and invading the American workforce.

3)The Dems want to limit drilling for oil and natural gas in areas that are virtually barren-- no people, no businesses, scant wildlife etc. So trillions of barrels of oil and natural gas are left beneath the earth while we import our energy from countries that are openly hostile to America and all the while the public gets fucked price wise. The solution? Allow countries we are in direct economic competition with to draw from those same sources and allow oil drilling in heavily populated areas such as the Gulf of Mexico.

local officials have made numerous deals using eminent domain to take parcels of rural private property for 'gov't use' and then turn around and sell to development corporations.  this happened adjacent to my neighborhood and the major players were all democrats who give half a shit for the desires of people in the community and decided to go ahead and do it anyway because it would generate tens of millions of dollars per year in tax revenue.  one family was offered a certain amount in compensation for thier 2 acre home and refused at any cost.  now the county and state are working to prevent letting the owner's children inherit it and turn it into a fucking gas station for mall-goers.  you should see this neighborhood.  i see signs in front lawns screaming bloody murder about how maryland/anne arundel county are fascist scum/dictators/criminals, etc.  And, of course, this whole area is overwhelmingly socialist because black people and some inner city upper crust yuppies consistently vote democratic and then spend the next 2-4-8 years complaining how shitty maryland is (and usually blurt insane arguments somehow blaming bush for this, go figure).

this has been happening for years all over the country.. gov't intervention to usurp and 're-distribute' private property, mostly to developers and for money.

Some did some didnt, but many cases arose using Kelo as the precedent to destroy private property to justify prvate development by politically connected people.

A word on oil.  We get an increasingly large % from Canada.  The 2nd largest oil country in the world.  I don't think they are our enemy and they're building more and more infrastructure to get more and more oil down here to the US.  Drilling off shore won't change that and in fact would be pointless considering the vast resource available in Canada.

still disagree big time that drilling on US property is pointless. this is especially true considering the estimated amount available and the ease at which we could get to it.  i find it interesting that regulations actually made drilling more dangerous by requiring it to be in such remote areas (deep water).  it made it nearly impossible to stop a leak that could have been stopped in a couple days if it were more accessable.  i wish we could get ANWR but canada is a great resource.
