 ;D very true
thinkh though if money was no object and i could open a gym i would run a hard core gym i would have strict entry stipulations
all the hardcore guys would want to come to a gym where they can train in a moron free gym no teens hogging the bench for 2 hrs pulling the weight off each other chests while on their cell phones or.. 3 hrs at the cable station doing crossovers and curls....
i would pay extra to train in a gym like that

My gym is a just a regular gym, and I've never had your problems. I've worked in, maybe, 5x in 7 years. Legs? Never a problem. Back? No one does chins or T-Bars. Chest? I'm alone down at the far end of the rack. Calves? Lotsa of equipment to get those done. What's going on in your gym?  ???

No people like you mentioned go to hardcore gyms anyway. when I first started training there were a lot more specialized hardcore gyms but there are almost none now and days , no money to be made.

Like was stated, the reason PF is doing well is there is an abduance of fat, lazy people who want to pretend to workout just to say they're doing something.  There isn't near enough hard core types to keep any gym going by itself.

Mesomorph, you are bordering on Croatch like obsession with your posting.  We get it, youre hardcore and you dont fvck around.  No eye contact, no smiling, just a nod to the fellow 'hardcore' guys.
Youre an inspiration to all of us, keep living the dream.

Hmm. Sounds more like 'hardcore' gyms should have standard equipment requirements.

 >:(

One time some bitch wouldn't let me use the adjustable bench because she had to use it for about ten seconds every three minutes for her 30 minute circuit workout... unbelievable.

Another time I asked a guy if I could work in on the ab machine (just a weight stack so it's a no brainer) and he actually tells me "uh, they have another one over there!" *points to a completely different type of machine*

Or the guys who plop down on the leg press and do about twenty sets... the last ten of which are with way too much weight, forcing them to work up the courage to get back in for about five minutes after every set.

The most common thing that irritates me though is when I have to wait for someone who clearly doesn't work out and is not going to be in the gym for more than a week before giving up.  Some little kid standing in the squat rack for half an hour.

I train in my basement.  All hardcore.  The music is always what I want to hear.  I don't have to wait for any equipment.

Gyms make money by signing people up who quit in two weeks.  If all their members showed up you wouldn't be able to move.  They really don't want a guy who really works out to be a member.

I worked out at my wife's gym one time.  I asked a girl who was doing 6 sets or more of leg extensions if I could work in.  She said with a grin, " you can have it when I'm done."
