bodybuilding=muscle. how big it looks, how defined it is. aesthetics is defined by accentuating the muscles.

zane couldt beat that top 5 in the heavyweight class at nationals.

WRONG. bodybuilding isn't only muscle , it's structure , shape , balance , proportion , definition , symmetry , posing , presentation , it's much more than muscle which is exactly why Rhul never accomplished much in the sport , like Kovacs and Atwood

or course Zane couldn't beat the top 5 in the heavyweights at the Nationals , the sport has ' progressed ' however what Zane did do was to defeat many of the best heavyweights in his day and establish himself as one of the best ever , something 99.9% of competitive bodybuilders can't do.

Zane = textbook definition of bodybuilding.

for the guy born skinny and unable to ever lift heavy weights, yes

Flex was born skinny too  ;)

and weights are a means to an end , if max lifts are you goal powerlifting is your sport

flex PWNS zane into oblivion. the two shouldnt even be in the same sentence.

weights are a means to what end? big muscles. big muscle=big weights.  heavy weight has to come before the muscle will.

WRONG. bodybuilding isn't only muscle , it's structure , shape , balance , proportion , definition , symmetry , posing , presentation ,

all of that centered around making the muscles look best, biggest, most well developed.

nah, ruhl didnt win major compeitions because he faced tough compeition. ronnie, jay, dorian, flex, shawn, kevin, cormier, etc tec. all guys who would mop the floor with zane.

or course Zane couldn't beat the top 5 in the heavyweights at the Nationals , the sport has ' progressed '

and there you have it  ;D

however what Zane did do was to defeat many of the best heavyweights in his day and establish himself as one of the best ever , something 99.9% of competitive bodybuilders can't do.

Flex owns Zane? this has what to do with both being natural ectomorphs?

not 100% correct but point taken and again the weight doesn't mean shit in the end it's a tool and nothing more

Quote

not at the expense of the fore-mentioned , big muscles is NOT bodybuilding it's part of it.

tougher competition who had more to offer than just big muscles. And stop trying to turn this into Zane vs the newer crop apples & oranges , different eras , lets see how well all of these guys would look with a level playing field

We get it you have a blocky structure. You like mass over everything else, because it fits in to the only thing that you could attain bodybuilding wise.

Lets see what ruhl looks like just on what the guys in the seventies were on? Oh that's right he looks like complete shit because the only way he got around his shitty genetics is by substance abuse, substances that weren't available in the good old days.

The Rory and Bob pic that Che posted destroys any bloated mess that you admire.

There was alot of buzz and hype surrounding Mustaffa leading up to the 2004 Mr O. It didnt last long. I dont believe he even placed in the top 10.

*edit* - just checked his 2004 olympia placing. He was 17th

he should have been top 6 like 2-3 years in a row. they just flat out dumped him.

nah i have a small waist, im just fat. flex and levrone and cormier are some of my favorite bodybuilders. flex is a close second to ronnie for best bodybuilder of all time. what would ruhl look like on the stuff the guys from the 70's were on? well, the guys in the 70's were using massive amounts of human grade steroids... so its fair to say that ruhl would look comparable to how he does now. massive. just not "as massive". still would pwn zane. cuz he had wide shoulders and lifted heavy. two things zane doesnt know shit about

Zane is so overrated, the guy looks Xfactors size. Leidelmeyers chest pwns Paris' too
I hate those "twisting" shots of Zane, seemed that he had that "bend" 24/7.

I''m no Zane fanboy, i thought he had a good build but he gets overrated. What he did do was be intelligent enough not to over do things. He was proportinate and balanced. Yeah i think there are guys that piss over Zane genetically, not Ruhl though, not by any stretch.

No idea what training has to do with it, Flex trained like a complete pussy 99% of the time.

There is zero way that Ruhl would carry anywhere near the mass that he carried during his career in the seventies. He would look a complete mess without that mass, it hides his faults.
