when i was younger and me and my friends would go to clubs we would make up our own dance moves to see if we could get other ppl to do them...

The video highlights pelvic thrusts, not ass-shaking.  But the curious part to a cultural anthropologist like myself is the monkey see, monkey do nature of the event.  Not a single one of them really attempts to take the base move and make it their own.
