yep it was the weekly reader. i remember reading it at lunchtime then going home and saying to myself, i have to get started on this sit up push up routine.

His face doesn't look 48, so it's not hard to believe that his body would match his face. Nobody knows what 1000 pushups and 2000 sit-ups per day would do for the body, because I'm sure no one other than Herschel has ever sustained this routine.

This is amazing how do you function on caffeine or something? I got insomina but sleep 3-4 hours at a time then stay up maybe 2 then 3-4 more havent slept 8 hours in 5 years and I'm tired as hell.

I am not bashing you in the least, but do you really believe:
1) that Herschel has sustained this routine from the age of 15; and/or
2) that he ever actually did this routine?

There were a set of twins that played doubles tennis for a while that blatantly lied about their workout routines, specifically the amount of pushups and situps they did per day. I played high level tennis, and had the chance to speak to someone that trained with them for much of their early years, and was told that they were always liars, about everything.

So, who really knows?

I must admit that Herschel, on or not, is a specimen at the end of the bell curve.

I think Herschel is just about pushing the line of credibility, and I say that as a Herschel fan since his Georgia Bulldog days.

And in fact, his physique is probably better than at U of Georgia.....

He has a youthful face and body. I don't know if he's lied about his push-up/sit-up routine all these years, but it's not hard for me to believe that a guy at the end of the bell curve could develop his physique with 35 years worth of bodyweight exercises.

I just slept 11 uninterrupted hours....I feel great now that I had a hot shower & a coffee...

I met and watched the Bryan's play at both the Copper Bowl and Fiesta Bowl (National Tournaments) back in 1993 and 1994 (one event is before the New Year, and the other is directly after).

They were obviously talented as hell, and the perfect practice partners (one is lefty, the other righty). Never have I seen more catered to athletes at a junior event, and mind you, they were only 12 or 13 at the time (4 years younger than me). Learned that their father bought a club specifically so they could practice as much as they wanted (I was a bit envious of that, as my podunk town had only 2 indoor courts for the winter, which were constantly booked by awful playing doctors).

Sev, I am sorry, the brothers I was thinking of were the Jensen brothers (not twins). Their diet and fitness regime were very overblown.

Even given the fact that he hit the genetic jackpot, his routine and eating habits seem more and more outlandish everytime I hear them.
I can accept the spartan diet OR the extreme volume of training but NOT BOTH NATURAULLY!

when i say i dont sleep..i mean it..that means i dont get tired or anything..when i do get tired i have to lay down and go to sleep right then..or it will pass, and i will be up for a few days...i see people wake up groggy, and still half asleep...i dont even do that...just wake up wide awake and go...a lot of people in my dads family have this shit...i think i am the only one who has used it for awesomeness!!!
